Yep. Find one thing, put it in the cart. Timed out, reload, go back for something else...timed out, reload, out of stock. Go to cart...timed out, reload...get to cart and item in cart is now out of stock. I will wait for next year, thanks.

I've had good luck on most things I've tried to order after a couple of sprint runs got snagged as I tried to check them out. I'm just grabbing anything I might use, which is basically the whole catalog so I am getting a ton of knives that will make good users or impromptu gifts for someone who could use a good knife.

Got my first hatchet, i thought it might be a small quantity item so I grabbed it before anything else. Might have missed out on the K390 Endura but that's okay, i have a few other Enduras and I've wanted to try one of the hawk designs for years.

I have an account set up and twice it hasn’t recognized me. Had two different purchases in process and lost them both possibly due to time spent inputting my info.

Would be great if their system could recognize accounts.

I got a native 5 for $40. I can never go to the factory second sales in person. The website is a little rough and theyre figuring stuff out, but I appreciate that they have done it in a way that I can actually have access to.

Cut them slack? Why should I? I’m a valued customer that was ready to fly to Colorado for this and they can’t even prepare correctly?
I was a tough day for them as much as anyone. Think of the cash you saved on air fare that you can my spyderco knives with. :)

So...it's almost 7pm in Golden. Is that a wrap for the evening? Assume nobody at the company is interested in selling through the night...

Was it announced anywhere what time the madness resumes each day?

No news even on Twitter. I'm guessing all the Golden staff must be bone-tired after a day of dealing with all the technical issues and irate customers. God bless them, 2 more days, fine ladies and gentlemen of SFO. Hold the line.

I wonder if they could remove the "out of stock" items so it is easier to see what is actually available. I think it would clean up the interface a little. Hard to scroll through on my phone.

Come on! Nobody prepared for this? I’ve been waiting 10 years for this and nobody even thought to upgrade their servers?

Lol. I stated that they should’ve prepared for this. This is a business who should’ve known better.
Hi, DaHolla:
I apologize for your disappointment, but you're making some assumptions that just aren't true. Perhaps it's worth a reminder that up until less than 4 weeks ago (with a holiday in the middle), the Seconds Sale was going to be in-person (only). I can assure you (and everyone else who's asked, or surmised what we did or didn't do) that we were as prepared as anyone could be. Truthfully, we could have just canceled the in-person event and said, "See you in 2021!"

The Seconds Sale is one of the highlights of our year - we LOVE seeing our customers and it's become a fantastic, unique, and beloved event. We knew it would be an insane undertaking to do something we've never done before - take the Seconds Sale online - and do it all in less than one month. Our team took the challenge and quite frankly, IMHO, did an awesome job bringing this to fruition. Has it been perfect? Nope. But we'll continue to do our best and adapt.

We welcome all feedback, we always have, but I'm too proud of our team and what we've accomplished (and I think the thousands of customers who successfully placed orders would agree) to just let it go.

Make it a good day!

Kristi

Don't let a few bad egg/cry babies get you guys down at Spyderco Kristi! Yes...it's a bit chaotic, but it's expected!! I had a good time yesterday, as well as many others here that I've talked to. Keep up the good work!

Have you considered holding inventory once its in the cart? I attempted to purchase several times yesterday, but by the time I reloaded the pages for 45 minutes, everything in my cart was out of stock. I did that 4 times.

Not salty, it's just frustrating. If there were no website issues, the way it's set up would probably be fine.

Thnks again for the opportunity. Hope it goes back to in person next year, I enjoy the trip down.

Regardless of the issues yesterday you guys did great! I'm pretty sure no matter how much time people spent on your site navigating the challenges, it was far less than traveling to our great state and camping overnight/waiting in line! I'm sure today will be better and I appreciate your willingness to step into unchartered territory and giving us all a chance to be part of this sale!

Hi Kristi, as someone who loves knives and realistically would not have a chance to attend the Seconds Sale in person, I appreciate you guys not only having it for everyone who looks forward to it all year, but for those of us who are new to the Seconds Sale experience. Thanks very much!

I was able to purchase the majority of what I wanted yesterday. Obviously it was challenging at times, but I’m happy to have had the opportunity this year. It sure beats camping out in the cold. Looking forward to more opportunities today.
