Give me don shula or bill Belichick over everyone else
George ( Papa Bear) Halas was the coach for the Chicago Bears from 1920 to 1967   I don't think anyone comes close to those numbers. He also won 6 Championships and is tied with Curly Lambeau ( Lambeau Field fame) and our wonderful ol' Bill ( the Lady's choice", especially here at ARROWHEAD :D )
I only care about the Superbowl era ;)

Gosh, thinking about Shula, makes me think Bill Walsh and the Superbowl they coached against one another.
Man, ill never forget that Super Bowl.....Danny Marino was Super Man that year, I just knew the Dolohins were gonna tear their arse up!!
NOT!!! San Francisco was just methodical in how they not only controlled Marino, but eventually won the Superbowl. Bill Walsh was on his way to Legendary Status...

Yeah Marino was good>> HoWEVER!!! Joe Montana was GREAT!! because Joe and the 49ers won it. That was Joe's second Superbowl victory. And Bill Walsh out-coached Shula too. But you're right because it was one of the better Superbowls of the 80s.

BULLETIN!!! They have moved the Ravens-Steelers game from Thursday Night (thanksgiving) to Sunday the 29th. This COVID stuff is really starting to get annoying>> but I guess it's better to play it safe. I was looking forward to 3 games on Turkey Day.

Shame, Shame Shame  And you call yourself a true NFL Fan :D If the Ghost of Vince Lombardi was to overhear all of this it would not be good :D Not to mention how it would hurt "Papa Bear's" feelings if he were here  . And do realize that Papa Bear's daughter still owns the Bears so you better be careful :D

But everyone should take a hard look at NFL history because it is really interesting to say the least. I shutter to think how horrible some of those early games might have been

So, NBC has the Steelers game at 1:15 on Sunday

I was really looking forward to watching this game tomorrow night!!

Yeah, if the league hadn't already taken the Steelers by week- because of another team, no less....
Tomlin and Pittsburgh really wanted this game today, so they could rest a little after today. Wouldve been like a mini bye week for them.

I hate to say this, but who really cares? Besides a few a few die hard Lions fans.
Ya know?
But, to answer your question, I think not.
They'll prolly fire him in the off season, barring a complete turnaround of things.
Just my 2 sheckeles worth :D

They should show him the door at the end of the season. In a way I'm a bit surprised at his dismal performance. Because last year he was showing signs of doing well with the Lions. But in NFL football probably more than any other sport it's the "What Have You Done For Me Lately" league.
It's like the late/great Vince Lombardi always said "Winning Is Not Everything, It's The Only Thing" Especially true in the NFL ;)

The Lions have to be the worst franchise of all time right?

I really can't think of another to take that title...
And, its not like I have anything against the Lions.
They just suck.

Not necessarily>> because I remember back in the 70s when the Buccaneers were an expansion team it took several years before they ever got a winning record in one regular season. And some of the original AFL teams ( most are now in the AFC) were dogs with losing records for quite a while after the AFL & NFL both united and became one league>> I think it was 1970 if my memory is not misfiring :o
But the Lions have been the brunt of a lot of bad jokes over the years for sure. In the Jon Kitna days they kind of showed some signs of hope.

I bet when the Lions owner dies the younger Ford family members will want to sell the team

The Buccaneers have been around a shorter period of time than the Lions yet they have won a Superbowl... Lions are definitely a worse franchise than the Buccaneers
