Thank you very much for your enthusiastic discussion of the 2020 Seconds Sale. We truly appreciate your interest. As many of you noted, bringing the sale completely online is a technological challenge. Before committing to specific dates, we wanted to make sure we had all our IT assets wired tight. We are confident we've done that, so we are now prepared to announce the dates.

The Online Factory Seconds Sale will start at 10 a.m. MT on Thursday, Dec. 3rd and end at 5 p.m. MT on Saturday, Dec. 5th. When the sale goes live, a link will be available from the Spyderco.com homepage.

For those who have been to previous factory second sales; do the fixed blade knives come with sheaths and if so do the sheaths have some sort of defect as well. I am looking into buying a bow river at this sale and it will be my first Spyderco knife.

Yes and no. Some of them have sheaths, most do not. The Bow River I bought at the last Sale did not come with a sheath. The ones that I have gotten with sheaths did not have obvious defects, either in the knife or the sheath.

If you're only looking to get a Bow River ($38 retail), you might not be getting much of a discount once you factor in shipping cost. Some places offer free shipping on a new knife and you're guaranteed to get the sheath and no defects. But I guess it depends on how steep the discount price is...
