Yup, this is the one that calls to me.
For a long, long time, I've admired the Autonomy knives. What I really wanted, though, was a serrated edge with a sharp point and an intriguing steel. This new knife is all those things. It's as if the boys and girls at Spyderco read my mind. If they go to all that trouble to make exactly what I was looking for, and went even further by going DLC, then I shouldn't try to make any excuses. I just pre-ordered one.

Man I really wish they'd follow suit with the Caribbean and offer this in a SE sheepsfoot so I can grind it down and make an auto version of my Caribbean sheepscliffe. Looks like street price is $245...gonna have to think on this one.

What is your guys thoughts about PE, SE or CE in a knife like this? I used to be all about PE knives and just have gotten more into SE models. I was originally thinking maybe going for the CE version but it seems a lot of dislike for CE models out there. For this price i want to get the right one the first time.

Also is there special paperwork I need to fill out from Spyderco to purchase through their site? I could only find the form if I want to return it. I am already a LEO registered through OpFocus.

I'm not "into" serrated edges. In fact, I have NO Spyderco serrated edges. But a while back Sal threw down and challenged me to buy a SE and a sharpmaker. At the time, no SE interested me. But now the upcoming Autonomy 2 with the pokey point and the serrated edge has caught my attention. I preordered a month ago, and I'll continue ot wait.

Some of the opinions on the Spydie Edge that we read on the forums is nonsense. Some of the opinions seem valid. There's only one way to be sure. And that's to buy one and try it out yourself.

The whole CE debate is an interesting one. I originally felt that most knives are just too short to have enough of either edge type to bother. Now that I've been carrying nothing but full SE for 3 years I'm wondering if I'd even have a use for the PE portion at the tip. Most of Spyderco's SE knives have some amount of PE at the tip and I've used that in the few situations where I needed some PE, but those situations are few and far between in my REAL day to day knife use. I'd look at your other knife options and decide if you can/want to live with whatever edge type and go from there. You can buy a Tenacious in any of these edge types and carry it for a while to see how it works for you and then commit to the bigger purchase.

I have no idea on the form question. I ordered my Autonomy through Blade HQ. Knife laws where I live are very relaxed, and my concealed carry permit allows me to carry any knives I want, up to and including a sword

Just buy whichever one you like the most. I pre-ordered a CE because I like the versatility, but I think CE catches hate because it's only versatile in half measures. If I'm chopping a carrot, I'm only using the PE half of the blade. If I need to cut cord, I'm dropping down to the serrated portion, but again limiting my real-estate. Some specific purposes are better in full SE or full PE and a CE will be less suited for both. That said, if I'm whittling and opening boxes, I don't need the full blade and a CE is just fine.

Those were the first two dealers that i saw them pop up at. They've gone In Stk at several other dealers since that post. I still haven't seen the serrated or combo edges In Stk yet.
