Don't hire your friends to work for you. Doesn't usually end well
You got that right. It usually just doesn't work out.

So, if the Cowboys wind up having the worst record in football, would they have the #1 overall pick next year?

I think that's how it works. Unless they previously traded the pick for a player. Because that's how the Chiefs got Sir Patrick was by trading picks and players so they could have that #10 pick in the 2017 draft I think it was.

I'm pretty sure that's right because all during the year before the Colts drafted Andrew Luck there was a saying that they were going "To Suck For Luck". So they just went ahead and had a bad year so they could get him. I'm pretty sure that's how that worked too.

Haven't had the first overall pick since Aikman. If the Cowboys get the first overall pick from this nightmare season I hope they trade back for multiple picks and draft defense and oline like crazy. I'll take Dak over Lawrence any day. Known vs unknown.

Ya know, I would take Lawrence in a hot second.
I think he will be a legit star. I really do.
Plus, Dak had a pretty bad injury.
But, I can see where your coming from too.

That's a good point because thinking you're drafting the perfect QB has been a disaster a lot more than it's been a good deal. Just to think that Mitchell Turbisky was drafted 9 slots ahead of Sir Patrick. I bet Andy Reid and Brett Veach were truly licking their chops the way that went down. But there was a lot of reason to believe that Turbisky was going to be good. And he could later mature down the road but it's hard to say.

It's truly a crap shoot at best when drafting a QB. Quarterbacks are a lot less predictable than many other positions. And After Zeke Elliott I would never give a Running Back a huge contract ever again. There are just too many variables in that position as well.

And NO!!! I don' t think that Eric Bieniemy is a good fit for the Cowboys HC job. But I do think he would be excellent with the Houston TEXANS and would work very well with DeShaun Watson. And I do hope that's where he ends up. He's been so good here in KC that I just wish the best for him.

That Cowboy's job is truly a snake pit at this time and I wouldn't want Eric to be tossed into a "no win" situation like that. I agree with what Stephen A. Smith said earlier. If McCarthy got fired with Aaron Rogers as his QB then something we don't know about might be seriously wrong with McCarthy. I previously thought that Jason Garrett was mainly the problem. NO!! I don't think that anymore.

Poor Jason might have been in an impossible situation. The players on that team are truly in a mode of rebellion like I haven't seen in quite some time for a pro football team. It's even worse than when Romeo Crennel was HC for the Chiefs earlier in this decade :(

Hard to believe that Week # 8 is already upon us. This season seems to be going by like a flash! Week #8 is a real pivot point in this most peculiar NFL season. Well I barely broke .500 in week 7 so I'll try to improve on that.
The Panthers over the Falcons ( It's been quite a war for draft picks this year)
The Ravens over The Steelers ( Lamar Jackson is going emerge big on this one)
Dolfins over The Rams ( Kind of a mini-upset, Dolfins are improving though)
Chiefs over the Jets ( I'm sure LeVeon Bell will get to show off a bit)
Packers over the Vikings ( Aaron Rogers is gaining steam)
Colts over the Lions ( Lions already looking for new coach))
Raiders over the Browns ( Chucky will prevail , hopefully Mayfield will be benched )
Titans over the Bengals ( A mere practice game for Mike Vrabel)
Bills over the Patriots ( I sort of feel sorry for ol' Bill  No not really :D )
Chargers over the Broncos ( I'll might regret this pick)
49ers over the Seahawks ( This will be a big surprise for many)
Bears over the Saints ( If Nick Foles can get help from his team mates for a change)
Eagles over the Cowboys ( and yes I'm talking about the Philadelphia NFL team and not our local high school  )
Bucs over the Giants ( I doubt if an upset is even possible on this one)
So far these Thursday Night games have been boring for the most part.

There is a big buzz here today in Kansas City. The two prominent Sports radio stations along with websites like "Arrowheadpride" and "ArrowheadAddict" are buzzing about Eric Bieniemy and where he'll ultimately end up after this 2020-2021 season concludes.

They are putting out about 5 possible teams they think he'll end up with a head coach's job. I still firmly believe it's a done deal behind the scenes. I think the Houston Texans are going to ride out the season with Romeo Crennel and then they'll hire Eric Bieniemy As soon as this season concludes.

Oh sure I could be completely wrong. But I have a lot of reason to believe he'll be a near perfect fit for Deshaun Watson and the entire TEXANS team. I hope to GOD he has better sense than to get involved with the Dallas Cowboys  No I truly think he'll be the Texans next head coach>> and I wish him well ( except when they play the Chiefs of course :D ). I've got a ton of respect for the guy and his work ethic is astounding. But I do believe this will be his year.

I just woke up at about 2:00am and see that the Falcons won that game last night. That shocks me in a way because I would have been tempted to bet some money on that game. Good thing I didn't. These games are getting so hard to predict and upsets seem to be more common all the time.

I feel sorry for Matt Ryan that his career has to wind down like this. If I was him I would cash my chips in at the end of this season. I do think that the Falcons have been victim to bad coaches in the past 10 years even including that Superbowl where they played Lord Brady. No team should have lost that game :(

Yea these hits on the qb's the past couple weeks are a bit concerning. Both Dalton and Teddy were CLEARLY down or going down.

Yeah even when the Panthers had Cam they were still about as flaky as a pie crust  They still play like an expansion team even though it's been well over twenty years. Of course Matt Ryan is not known for consistency either.

I don't know what it is but it seems like I bomb on most all of these Thursday Night games :(
