I'm fairly new to the knife steel game... my question is MT28 vs MT31?
Both, of course.
I'm in for multiples of both.
Do we know the size of the new Mule runs, or if there is a purchase limit?
My guess is 600-1000 based on the numbers from the Spydiwiki, maybe starting with 600 then wait on demand? I'm hoping for 2 myself but with the $50 price tag they may get gone quick. I'd love a preorder

I haven't been on this forum for a while, and I saw this thread and it immediately sent shivers of joy throughout my body. Lol
I can't wait to get my hands on the new Mules. :D
I have been waiting patiently for Spy27 and CPM45 as I have some friends in the hunting industry who want me to make up something stainless. I hope one of the two is available soon so I have time to get things handled before the holidays.
I watch this thread closely with anticipation for the SPY27 mule.
I don't know anything, but am happy to speculate. I view the mules as "gifts" from Spyderco to the knife community. As I understand it they are done "at cost" more or less. So I figure that they are just waiting for some slack time in their production schedule to knock them out -- but they are just busy with money making projects. Someone said in another thread that it takes well over a year to get an exclusive run scheduled, so that tells you how busy they are.
I'll be grateful when they do show up. Beggars can't be choosers and all that.
Of course these are delayed. We are in the middle of pandemic that has caused much trouble around the world. Projects like these are not big money makers and it is better that Spyderco has focused on things that keep their employees employed, the doors open, and the lights on.

You have no idea if it's pandemic related or not. Most, if not, every other Blade in the same Reveal has been released. It "could" also be heat treat or grinding issues or steel QC or....
