Pac salt green frn lc200n shipping to dealers!
Re: Pac salt green frn lc200n shipping to dealers!
Interesting to read about the pivot screws and blade play. I wonder if the early batches have been kind of rushed(?). I’ve never gotten a Seki model (or any Spyderco) with the screws backing out, especially brand new, out of the box. This is one of the reasons I prefer to wait on a new model for awhile, because sometimes people report issues with certain models. Although screws backing out is perfectly fixable, it might make me wonder if something else about a specific knife is imperfect.
OTOH, whenever I order a knife, I do it over the phone. I always request they briefly check the knife beforehand so it doesn’t have blade play, the screw heads are all intact and solid, good action, grind, etc., etc. Using this strategy, I haven’t gotten a Seki back lock with blade play or any other flaws in years.

Got mine today (SE). Out of the box it is perfect other than the clip being on the wrong side (Lefty). So glad this model was put in production. I feel like it is a step up from the Pac Salt. The serrations are not as deep as the Pac Salt. Some may prefer the shallower serrations. I don't care one way or the other. Great job Spyderco.

I can't say anything about the specific knife in discussion, but can say that I got a Salt 2 SE for Christmas last year. The pivot screw became loose practically right away (just checking out and testing out the knife the next few days), very similar to what people are saying here. A small dab of blue locktite had this fixed easily, and the knife has been perfect ever since. So I don't think I'd personally assume a loose pivot screw indicates any other issues. Just my experience and my 2 cents!
Re: Pac salt green frn lc200n shipping to dealers!
I was merely making a note to check... the majority of my knives are serrated seki lock backs, the first thing I do on all of them out of the box is loctite the pivot screw and adjust it where I like it. Never have I had them actually several threads out of the pivot directly out of the box.
My old pac salts never had any screws come loose and never needed to be tightened even after years of abuse.

Seki frn takes dye really well. These could go darker green or blue (or of course black) very easily.bearfacedkiller wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 7:46 amWill these be offered in a color besides zombie green?

I know we're all different with differing taste.....I think that green looks fantastic! It took me years to get on board with my yellow Pacific Salt, that's years I missed out on owning a great knife, the yellow doesn't even phase me anymore. But I definitely like this new green more!

Great pic!JuPaul wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 7:48 amSo, I can't decide if this will become a beater like my H1 pac salt, or if it'll be more of an edc. Either way, I can tell it's gonna be a great knife. I agree that it feels more balanced that the heavy-bladed H1 version, and I love the green. I am curious to see how it'll hold up to abuse compared to the H1, though. We'll find out!

I think Eric said the color was chosen because it was one that could be seen well underwater. Still, since the H1 Salts did get black handles, I cannot see a reason why these won't as well, at least at some point in the future.bearfacedkiller wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 7:46 amWill these be offered in a color besides zombie green?

Got my two PEs and one SE. On all three if you want to easily drop the blade you have to wind the pivot screw out much farther than I’ve had to on other Pacific Salts and Enduras. You have to tinker more with balancing blade drop vs side to side blade play.

Hi, was there already an announcement for other seki green salts ?

Anyone know where I can order another PE? Out of stock or yet to be stocked everywhere I looked.

I have been waiting every single day since watching that video for the Salt 2s. It's probably only been a few weeks but feels like a few months :DFullFlatMind wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 2:35 pmEric said in a video with one of the knife shops that they plan to do LC200N green salts to the entire current H1 lineup.
Re: Pac salt green frn lc200n shipping to dealers!
After fiddling with this new Pac Salt 2 a bit the pivot screw loosened. A little Blue Loc-tite took care of it. Looking forward to the little brother (Salt 2) dropping.
