Question about Spyderco Salsa Knife

#1

Post by BKM »

I just purchased a Salsa knife on the secondary market: C71CBPS Cranberry anodized Aluminum 50/50 PS AUS-8 2003 "Salsa" with a salsa pepper logo engraved on the handle. My question is, upon closing it has a stop just before the blade goes into the scales, kind of like a detent. Is it supposed to do this? I cannot see any damage, there isn't any wobble in the blade, and it opens just fine. Any help would be great!

That doesn't seem right, but I've never used a Salsa. Compression locks should allow a smooth close. It may be that the lock leaf was over bent and the flat edge of the ricasso is running into the detent ball.

Yes, they do that. I have two "regular" ones and the Ti model.

I wish there were more integral comp locks like the salsa and the atr. The Slyz lineup would look good with integral comp locks :D
