Hi Julia, and thanks again!

I live in Norway, or the outskirts of nowhere, if you will. Not the easiest place to get hold of your favorite Spyderco's, but plenty of places to use them :)

Looks like Trondheim or a bit north to it?

I love the wild nature of Norway (and all of Scandinavia), been there a lot when I was younger :)

Yes! I feel extremely lucky to have such beautiful places to be (and to have my sweet 4-legged friends to be with), especially right now.

I hope to visit Norway someday! I will definitely go back to Europe again eventually...so many places yet to see.

If you come to visit Aicolainen, stop by in Spain in your way to Norway. You are kindly invited and I will be glad to show you our concept of a folding knife (there are descriptions of navajas and "the art of using them" (Sitra achra) in our literature since the XVII century)

Those are gorgeous! I spent about 6 weeks in Barcelona and traveling around Andalusia about 15 years ago. It was amazing, and I would love to go back!

Thanks! Next time that you come to Spain, land in Madrid and visit Toledo (less than 45 minutes drive from Madrid) a city with more than two thousand years of tradition in the forging of knives. Master smiths from Toledo forged the falcatas carried by the Iberian units in the army of Hannibal (the Carthaginian general who fought against the romans in the North of Africa, Iberia and even the Italian peninsula after crossing the Alps with his elephants). They also manufactured the legendary swords of officers in the armies of the Spanish empire which fought in Europe (France, Germany, the Nederlads), Central and South America, and Asia (the Philiphines) during the XVII and XVIII centuries.

On top of the high quality of the steel and the forging techniques that they used, they invented what I would call a reversed San Mai: swords where made with a soft iron sheet inside, which reduced the overall weight and prevented them from bending or cracking.

I am sure that if you go to Toledo, you will have a great time and will return to the US with a few wonderful navajas for your collection.

It's not the soul of Rex45, but it has the scales and the Halloween feel to it!
