I'm interested to see how this is handled compared the the maxamet manix 2 that broke earlier this year.

There is one big important lesson I've learned the hard way about ZDP-189. About 9 years ago I was cutting up some fresh, home grown tomatoes out of my garden I had at that time. Like a fool I forgot to wash the blade after I was done. The next day the corrosion was so bad it was as if I had soaked it overnight in some industrial strength acid

The pitting was so bad that I sent it in to Spyderco Warranty and Repair. But I'm here to tell all of you that ZDP-189 is vulnerable to corrosion from food acids. Oh I still like ZDP-189 and I still love my Burgundy Caly Jr. But I would be extremely careful using it in corrosive environments.

Looks like a prying induced break to me...

Maybe start a new thread instead of continuing a thread from 10 years ago. It is the month of Halloween, though. :)
