I usually thin out most of my blades for personal use. We use good enough steels to handle it.

Just as a bit of a tease; I mentioned earlier that there are two more versions based on th Shaman pattern. One is thinner stock and a lighter handle and the other is a "sans finger choil".

I'm currently testing a unique design by a Japanese custom maker. Very bright blade maker. It's a rough job, but someone has to do it.

There was a poll and discussion about this, started in 2018. Last year, Sal mentioned a Delica with a high hollow grind, and maybe some special heat treatments as well(we asked for it, I don't remember if Sal confirmed). It's worth a read anyway.

Hi Kiku,

1. was answered

2. Weight reduction to be the same as the "live" blade. Also, trainers were originally all made with red handles so they are easily identified. Then customers were repeatedly asking for red knives with "live" blades so we honored their requests and made some red live knives.

3. We just got a quote back from the maker for a Curwear Proficient with Micarta handles. The price was not much lower than the S90V version. Sine the request was for a lower cost, we opted not to go forward. The majority of the cost is in the machining of the handle.

Thank you, high hollow ground is my favorite grind. Hopefully it makes it to market. Maybe you can convince one of the companies having exclusives made to switch to that grind? Might help get it to market sooner?

All I know is that a HG Delica would look amazing in photos. Nothing like the light transition effect on well-lit photos of a hollow ground blade.

There are also quite a few exclusives, both new and reorders. Seems like the design is more popular than we thought.
