Paid up for it on the secondary market last week ...I had no idea GEC knives were so hard to come by. I guess I will pay more attention to their release announcements in the future

New GECs are harder to get than most Spyderco sprints. People just blind buy all that come out thinking it is some sort of guaranteed investment. If you stop to think for 60 seconds at the pre-order stage you will likely miss out. When I first got interested in GEC knives you had at least a couple of days to think it over.

Yeah getting new GEC releases is 100% impossible. I finally got in good with a local dealer so now I have no problem, but it’s absolutely absurd. After the whole COVID thing and GEC announced they were no longer producing anymore SFO’s the prices have gone through the roof. Ebay prices are nuts. As of right now and the foreseeable future I would say they are a great investment if you can get one at retail price. I’m going to hopefully pick up a 74 Mustang when they are released next but after that I am 100% done with GEC. It’s not fun anymore, it’s exactly why I fell out of love with Spydercos trying to chase the sprints I wanted. It’s really not fair. Anyways, carried this one today.

Ha! Awesome! ;)

It's the only OTF I've ever owned but it's really nice! Aesthetically, it's the nicest looking blade on any OTF I've seen. Most tend to be dwarfed by the handle size; this one actually looks normal. Plus it's very smooth and powerful thanks to GT's patented mechanism.
Haven't had a misfire yet, and of course I've been driving my wife crazy with all the opening and closing. :D

Availability was the only problem I had. Lol. I could not find an 035 single edge for the life of me, then I saw PVK Vegas had the carbon fiber one in stock. The price hurt a bit but no denying the quality and the CF is cool, too.

Can't wait to see which one you get!

I decided to get a GEC 33 and probably be done with it for awhile. The more I read about trying to buy new GEC knives when they drop the more I don't want to get involved even tho they are nice knives.
Anywho here's a Victorinox Ambassador:
