Same here, when I saw SG post her's I loved it (and still do) But, I think to keep the heritage of the knife I may lean towards keeping the holes. But like you, that's the only reason I haven't ordered some myself yet!

I got mine a few days ago. I love it. :)

I actually like the cf/g10 texture but a wood scale would not look out of place.

Go with the hole delete and then you can always put the original scales back on when you are feeling "holey" lol

I succumbed and bought the figured koa WITH holes. I like the CF, but these are just too gorgeous to pass up! Can't wait to get these!!

Chris did a great job on the scales he did for my Watu.

That is an absolutely beautiful set up. I just ordered my Watu a few minutes ago. Now to order one of these scales. I am new to Spyderco and I can't wait to get my hands on one.

Alright!! This was such a cool project! Here is the turnout of Sal's scales. I decided to make some custom Spyderco themed inlays as well as giving a sample of the new UV high gloss finish that is now an option for the Koa Watu scales. Sal is having three of them on display in the Watu case a the SFO. I'm honored to have my work shown there!

Please leave some comments and let me know what you all think!

Check out my Instagram or Facebook page @trifectcustomshop for videos of the scales mounted to the Watu.

Have a great weekend all!

Those are gorgeous! I think I prefer keeping the holes from the original design, but I also really like the solid bug logo.

Hi Julia,

I'm sure Chris could inlay a python. Just to make it harder. :p

Hey Chris,

Congratulations to you and the Mrs. The only things that are really new are babies and tomorrow.

Gorgeous!

A whole Watu case at SFO? I’d love to see a pic!
