Re: Personal knife categorizations?
I love lists!
Favorite knife (today):
Para 3 XHP with blurple skinni-fied scales
Best work knife:
Gayle Bradley 2 - tough, classy, works hard in all directions, not scary to co-workers
Best outdoors knife:
Military 204P - I live in a temperate coastal rainforest, so I need some stainless in my life
Best EDC knife:
Para 3 Maxamet - can handle any and everything that might come up any and everyday
Best beater knife:
Military 52100 with swapped Burnt Orange scales to match the patina
Best big knife:
Fixed: PROVINCE - It's a chopper baby
Folder: Police 4 G-10 - it's big and slim and graceful and oh so functional
Best small knife:
Techno 2 - just arrived yesterday and it's like a little lozenge of awesome in my hand
Most used knife:
Para 3 Maxamet - because EDC
Favourite knife that I don't own anymore:
Kapara - Great design, but it was too beautiful for me to use with abandon
Least favorite knife that I don't own anymore:
Lil' Native - I can see the appeal but it just didn't jive with my hand
Favourite knife that I don't and haven't owned
Amalgam - mostly because of the googly-eye photo series Brian posted around Reddit.
Best "gateway" knife
Military Rex 45 - bought on a whim a few years back, my first military and boy howdy did this re-wire how I think about knife size, weight, cutting performance, construction, lock-up, etc.
