Not particularly, honestly.
well, yeah. It's hard to disagree, but still depends on how you (choose to) look at it :-)

I bought my first PS1 from Knife center about 4 years ago. It was approx. $75, or just about $105 all included. And that's not taking into account that currency rates were much more favorable back then.

The new one will cost me $170 before I can open the package. I could of course just look at those numbers and complain about that, cause my pay check has certainly not had the same development during that time, but I kind of expected it to be more expensive than the H1 version, at least a little bit.

So it's certainly a chunk of change, but less than I feared it would be.

All four upcoming Pacific Salt2 (Japan) and Atlantic Salt (Japan) folders with LC200N and FRN are great values at $101.50 and $99.40 respectively when you consider that the Native5 LC200N FRN (USA) folders go for $130.20!

If these are not out by mid-December 2020 I'd pre-order them to lock in the prices in case they go up for 2021.

Yes it does. I had to double check the prices of the current Pacific Salt 2 and the LC200 version, to make sure I wasn't imagining a steal of a deal.

That green is calling my name (it's my favorite color) and was announced at the perfect time; I've been looking into getting a Salt folder

Seems like an attractive price. I've been on the fence for a while on an Endura purchase. This one will probably get me over, although not officially an Endura.

I guess by today's price standards it is, but it wasn't so long ago you could get a Para 2 for about that much. Prices are increasing much faster than my income does unfortunately.

I'm in the "not really" camp

It's a decent price but not a incredible value. Although I will admit that the longer one is in the knife hobby the more elastic one's opinion of prices becomes relative to what things used to cost "back in the day."

In my (stuck in 2004 :D ) mind Pacific Salts still cost $44, so $100 is quite a shock, until I look at what other knives are priced ;)

This here. Good price relative to the similarly constructed Native Salt and a much larger blade and working edge to boot, but the yearly price increases and MAP pricing changes make it harder and harder buy EVERY model that I want, as much as i'd like to. That said, I will definitely be getting one of each edge type of the Pac Salt and most/all of the future green LC200N Salt such as a Salt 1, Dragonfly Salt, Spyderhawk, etc as I have been waiting for these for a long time. :D

I want to try out the steel...but it's not yet enough of a lure. Almost...but not quite there for me. The price is relatively attractive, though.

Even at $101.00 or whatever, I still consider it a decent value. Probably because I don’t buy many knives at all anymore. Would I prefer it $20 cheaper, like it would have been a couple or a few years ago? Of course. But since I’m not into accumulating knives in high numbers anymore and only buy on rare occasions, it’ll do for me.

I consider it a great value specifically because of the Pac Salt 2's reputation for durability. It's a great "will do everything it's designed for and about 75% of what it's not" kind of knife.

Now add in a potential FFG spyderedge in LC200n, and that bumps the percentage up to (imo) about 90%...

I still prefer the wiggle-free assurance and EDC-friendliness of the compression lock on my Caribbean, but I'm tempted to pick up a couple of these as "edge case" specialists.
EDC Rotation: PITS, Damasteel Urban, Shaman, Ikuchi, Amalgam, CruCarta Shaman, Sage 5 LW, Serrated Caribbean Sheepsfoot CQI, XHP Shaman, M4/Micarta Shaman, 15v Shaman
Fixed Blades: Proficient, Magnacut Mule
Special and Sentimental: Southard, Squarehead LW, Ouroboros, Calendar Para 3 LW, 40th Anniversary Native, Ti Native, Calendar Watu, Tanto PM2
Would like to own again: CQI Caribbean Sheepsfoot PE, Watu
Wishlist: Magnacut, Shaman Sprints!

It's a good value for me. It's nearly rustproof, longer blade and more comfortable handle for me than the Native LWT,with an unlined FRN handle in one cool color.

Honestly, between the Cru-Wear Delica, The Pacific Salt 2, and one of those wharncliffe Manbugs, I could see myself being done buying for quite a while.

I have a feeling I am going to stockpile these. I’m afraid I’ll never “need” a new knife again.

I know now already that this (in SE) finally will actually be the only knife I´ll ever need (from a practical point of view). Maybe plus a Chap FRN for the very rare situations when I want to carry a really small folder.

There were moments where the thought of reducing my folder collection to just these two models was actually somehow intriguing... but then: I am way to deep in the rabbit hole, no chance to just stick to two models forever...

Lately I'm mostly interested in the Salt line.
When I go to Hungary and use my Byrd Meadowlark, while it is clearly not the same as a Delica 4, the value is there. But there's nothing you can compare with the salt like simply because the Salt line does something the rest doesn't.

On Lamnia for around 120€. Not bad.

More like 130€ (around 150 USD converted)...STILL not bad! ;)

But have you noticed: It says there for the Pac Salt ffg: "Out of stock. Delivery time currently unknown", while for the Rockjumper: ""September 2020"...
Honestly, I just quit looking at possible delivery time on Lamnia. I setup the notification for the product I want and then just wait. Their system is....rather whacky to say at least.

Well.... true. ;)
(Though they are a good online shop with decent prices otherwise and I had only good experiences so far!)

SE FFG could be my next knife, we'll see. Nothing is written in stone, but I like this platform. Honestly, FFG SE Endura would do the same for me, and I would feel a bit better with the liners, but this is good.
