I'm almost having a hard time believing that they're coming in at the same price as the H1 version. Unless I'm mistaken, this is the absolute cheapest way to get an LC200N knife and it was a good knife to start with. Between this and the S35VN Tenacious I feel like Spyderco is really stepping up their game bringing premium steels at an excellent price.

I don’t even totally want one, I’d much rather wait for some of the other salt models (and some other golden/lw models) to show up in lc200n. But I’ll probably end up nabbing this one on value alone.

But like. Sage 5 lw salt when. And para 3 lw salt when. And manix 2 lw salt when. You get it.

And sage 2 m390 when. Alright that one’s another thread :D
Lightly insane.

Current spydie collection: Watu, Rhino, UKPK Salt G10 bladeswap, Yojimbo 2 Smooth G10 Cru-Wear, Manix lw “mystic” 20cv, SmallFly 2, Waterway, Ladybug k390, Caribbean
Current favorite steels: sg2/R2, lc200n/Z-FiNit, 3v

Absolutely... I hope the salt 2 will also receive the same treatment.

The cost of LC200n steel is not really that expensive. For all I know, it may actually be less expensive than H1 not accounting for import/export costs of LC200N to Japan. The "initial" cost of LC200N knives was getting it to play nice with other materials which Spyderco is dialing in. Kudos to Spyderco for reflecting true costs and maintaining margins.

A toothy Siren would make the most elegant serrated salt......especially if the blue G-10 liners were lime green or chartreuse. Still, I'm not gonna hold my breath. A FFG toothy Pac Salt will turn the broken record off for a little while. Pretty exciting stuff.

Pac Salt 2 available for preorder at BHQ for $101. Atlantic Salt 2 for $99. At these uncertain times when recession is looming hard over many economies, these knives represent an incredible value from Spyderco.

Thanks, Sal, if you are ever reading this. I will definitely get one or the other.

That price point was as a nice surprise. Of the remaining knives on my list, this will be the easiest one to pull the trigger on.

I was pleasantly surprised that it's the same price as the H1 Pac Salt 2, and a bit less than the Native 5 Salt. I hope the Endela gets the LC200N, lime green handle, Salt treatment soon.

Yeah, it's an extremely good value, especially in SE.

I can see it taking a bite out of Endura4 sales. I know that I would buy this over a vg10 endura.

An ffg full SE knife on the Endura 4 / Pac Salt 2 platform has actually been my most hoped for knife for quite some time now, and I´ve advocated a lot for it..

Now I am kind of "glad" that we don´t get a Pac Salt 2 ffg SE AND an Endura 4 ffg SE... I think I´d be never able to choose (and´d have to get both in the end :D ).

And on the question: Yes, I do think the Pac Salt 2 ffg (SE for me) is a great value!! Though I´d be more than fine with VG10 and would not need the rustproofness of LC200N, I´ve hardly read anything bad about the latter (other than maybe not the best, but still decent edge retention in PE).
Eager to try this steel, and that in the most perfect and most versatile folder I personally can imagine!!! :)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

More like 130€ (around 150 USD converted)...STILL not bad! ;)

But have you noticed: It says there for the Pac Salt ffg: "Out of stock. Delivery time currently unknown", while for the Rockjumper: ""September 2020"...

This knife in SE is number one on my very, very short list, ever since the news of its coming release. It jumped to the front of the line.

The Endura wharncliffe in SE appears to be FFG. Are they still doing the leafsfoot version as a saber grind?

You are right, both the full SE Endura and full SE Delica are ffg only in the wharnie version, but sabre grind in the "regular" / drop point blade shape (CE also only comes in sabre grind).

In a knife as large as the Endura I personally prefer the "regular" shape over the wharnie.

Not particularly, honestly. My PS(1) was $63 a year ago, and they were that range pre MAP (along with all the other FRN handles Spydies in the Endura/Delica family). A 60%+ bump I wouldn't call a steal

Also honestly, happy to have the PE Atlantic Salt back even at that cost
