Just a bit pricey especially here in Europe,
This is a thing.
I just paid the NOK equivalent of 107 USD for my manbug salt.
The S90V Native 5 I'm considering, currently sells for the NOK equivalent of 398 USD.

The Watu really "speaks to me" more and more [...] Just a bit pricey especially here in Europe, and I wish they would have kept the frame lock (or make it a linerlock) of the Chokwe.
It's the exact opposite for me: the frame-lock on the Chokwe has made it a hard pass at that time, but I'd love to see a bigger Watu (or another iteration of the Chokwe with Watu's lock and materials).

Well, just different personal preferences then! :)

I happen to prefer linerlock and framelock (in that order) over the comp. lock. For me just more natural, more comfortable and safer (concerning how the knife lies in the hand when operating the lock) to use - especially with cold fingers or gloves.
But then: In smaller (but not too small) knives for whatever reasons I like a comp lock better than in large ones. Thus no deal breaker at all in the Watu! :)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Six, so far, for me. In alphabetical order they are the Autonomy 2 CF/S30V, Chaparral Sun/Moon, One Eyed Jack, SpyOpera, Wakiita Funayuki, and Wakiita Petty. Nothing else currently available or recently disco'd excites me even a bit, so whether I will purchase any more new Spydercos in 2020 depends on whether the Birdseye Maple Chaparral and/or the PE LC200N Atlantic Salt ship before it ends. As for older stuff, gun and ammo situation being what it is right now, I have plenty of "mad money", there's just very little left in the way of "collectible Spydercos" that I'd consider spending it on.

If my count is correct, I've bought 43 this year, and sold 11.

Haha I was feeling bad for buying way more than I planned on this year. After seeing this post I don't feel so bad anymore :)
It's been a weird year. I can't be held totally responsible for my actions however. There have been entirely too many PM2 and Rex 45 drops.

My count was a little off. I've bought 46, but three were gifts for other people. Mostly they've been Golden sprints and exclusives, with a couple Delicas in the mix as well as a few old models.

At least I can say that I scored all of the 2020 drops on the actual drop...no secondary market.

Another year, more of the same for me. Bought a bunch, but also sold a bunch to keep myself around the same total of knives. Proud of myself for being able to do this, especially considering a few of them I thought I would never sell. But, as time goes on, I really don't end up missing them because there is always something new to fill their void.

This year has been better though as I have been helped acquiring a few knives, and have returned the favor and helped others in getting knives they desire or had tough time finding. That's a great feeling :)

I don't have any knives on my current must have list, the Manix Rex45 and 4V drops as well as the Shaman Rex45 were some of my favorites for the year. (Manix Rex45 became my favorite knife)

Same here: sold a few, bought a few, some older, some new.

Highlights, so far, have been the Euroedge (a wonderful design & manufacturing showpiece), Manix XL (the cbbl works way better for my large hands on the XL) and the Watu (good fit, and oh! that 20cv blade shape and grind!)

Said goodbye to rex45 Para3, Para3 lw, Caly 3.5, Urban k390, Spydiechef, and Pacific Salt.

I've been so hammered with medical/surgical bills that I've only bought a couple of blades in this entire year. It's been kind of a bummer too because my "want list" and "gotta have lists" both are getting really full. Not to mention the new Sprint Run C-60 Ayoob coming down the pipeline.

It's been a very unusual year in so many ways. I truly hope Spyderco hasn't been hurt at all. I'm really getting anxious for some of their new sharpening tools coming down the new product pipeline. You never get bored collecting and/or using Spyderco knives because there is always something new to look forward to with blades and sharpening tools both.

However I'm going to be really glad to put the year "2020" in my rear view mirror

Me too. Around New Year's Eve, I always say next year will be better. This time, I'm pretty sure I will be right.

My most anticipated knife of the year has been Watu, bought it as soon as it was out. Found it so good that I immediately broke my 'no duplicates' rule. Also got a SPY27 Para3 so I can play with the steel.

Definitely must buys for the rest of 2020 are the S90V Native Chief and from the new reveal the Pacific Salt (in both SE and PE) and possibly the SmallFly.
I broke my “no triplets” rule on this one 😬

To our European friends (@Wartstein, @aicolainen,etc...) who have prohibitively expensive Spyderco retail prices in your region, have you ever considered using a shipping/forwarding services like myUS or Shipito? That's how we get our blades here in our country for US retail prices plus the shipping cost of the forwarder, though in our case we have local forwarding companies that have much more competitive pricing than the two I have mentioned. Shipping from the US to my country typically costs an average of $20 for 2-3 knives. If we buy knives locally, usually there is a $30-$50 markup, plus about $5-$6 shipping to our local address, so buying direct from the US retailers and having them shipped by a forwarding company is much more cost-effective.

Haven't heard of Shipito till now. Looked them up and made a cost calculation on their website: a $220 value purchase would cost more than $40 of shipping & handling costs. No thank you...

MyUS actually did charge me roundabout $40 the last two times I used them (in 2019).

But thanks for the idea.

Yikes, that's costly, but maybe it was just an estimate by their online calculator? Maybe you can message them via email and ask a specific quotation, like how much would this knife with box dimensions x *y*z and about 1-2 lbs. cost shipped to my country?

Because one of the shipping forwarders that I use to buy knives in the US has a relatively high calculated rate when using their onsite calculator, but in actual use I can get as low as 12$ for one Spyderco knife shipped in a standard USPS small box.

But then, maybe it also depends on what country the itme is being shipped to...

I sold more than I bought this year. I've become a lot more careful and choosy about what I buy. I'm still a steel nerd, but I also recognize that most steels are more similar for my uses than they are different.

That I can remember off the top of my head: Para3 LW SPY27, Z-Cut Pointed Serrated, Z-Cut Blunt Serrated, BHQ Manix 2 XL M4, DLT Delica Cruwear, KJ SpydieChef blue anodized, and denim micarta scales for my PM2 M390

I definitely want the Pacific Salt 2 with LC200N and either the Police K390 or one of the Native Chief sprints

I think that also has a lot to do my slowing down as well. I've already got a few M90/204P/20CV knives, so a lot of new releases that have those steels, though I may like the knife, have turned into easy passes.
