Completely Forgotten Spyderco Models: Your Favorites?
Completely Forgotten Spyderco Models: Your Favorites?
Well most of you here know I'm really "old school'. Yes I'm so "Old School" that many of you find it annoying
But one thing about the Spyderco models that made me a fan for life were darned good in spite of the fact that very few people on the Forum now a days even are aware of them>> and fewer yet ever even owned them. Here is a list of my favorite, forgotten Spyderco models. I'm sure you all have a few in that category so let's talk about these Spyderco models with very little if any fanfare at all.
(1) C-56 Zowada
(2) Stainless Handled ATS-55 RESCUE
(3) Spyker
(4) C-32 Spur
(5) TEMPERANCE 1 model ( fixed blade, SE & PE)
OH and there is one more fixed blade model that I don't hear anyone ever talk about anymore. It is the SPOT model.
So what did you all like that is in the "Forgotten" category of Spyderco blades?

Can´t weigh in here.. I am just not "old school" enough
The closest I can come up with: There was a great predecessor to the Stretch 2, called the Stretch 1 :D
Imho one of the greatest Spydies ever, especially in HAP40.

I've never heard of many of these models so it makes pretty much as much sense as this :D
It's fun googling the models you've been name dropping though

Re: Completely Forgotten Spyderco Models: Your Favorites?
I was a bit late for the Vesuvius, I'd like to see an updated version of that one.
More so than specific models I look back on the older catalogs and there just seemed to be so many more varieties. Someone mentioned the Salsa, look at all the different versions it came in. There were more colors, edge types and sometimes even blade types. We're starting to see a bit more of that in some models with wharnie variants and FRN colors but it seems like these days a lot of that is lost, especially SE options. I wonder if there will ever be another string of models like the Kiwis and Kopas.

This is fun! I looked up all of these knives, and there were a ton of meat designs. Spyderco could do nothing but Sprint runs and never run out of interesting knives.

Okay here's a few I'd miss if I didn't buy one or two or:
Scopius
Progrip/ Venator
Viele
Persian
Lava
Mouse
There are so many more. JD knows I'm with him on old school. I don't really know why though there are no Military, PM 2's or 3's in my collection.

T-Mag isn't that old but it was a trip to learn that it was a magnetic slip joint. Apparently it didn't get favorable reviews but i bet it makes for a good collectors piece.

The LAVA, The Scorpius and The MOUSE. It's fair to say that they are truly "forgotten" models.
Re: Completely Forgotten Spyderco Models: Your Favorites?
I'm willing to bet that probably at least 70% of all Spyderco fans don't even know that these two models even exist.
On another note in the past year I've only found maybe 4 people that know anything at all about the TEMPERANCE 1 model. Even though there is a TEMPERANCE 2 which had a lot of popularity at one point. You still don't see many that even know that model exists either.
