Wow, even I'm tempted by that price! Do I need another Domino...ugaarguy wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 7:35 amRed weave CF Domino right at $200 from KnifeWorks - https://knifeworks.com/spyderco-domino- ... lain-edge/. It's a Spyderco flipper in Spyderco's red and black colors! That red and black weave CF/G10 laminate should be on some of Spyderco's own premium variants.

Re: flipper recommendation
I dont think the Domino is quite as tall as the Manix, but unfortunately I don't have it with me to compare. But I do have some pics with mine next to a Shaman and a Delica for reference.Bemo wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 10:15 amThanks everyone. I've looked at the Domino and the Sliverax on line a lot and they do intrigue me. I had an Efficient for awhile that I loved before getting into the better steels and I believe the design was heavily influenced by the Sliverax. My one concern with the Domino is the pocket space a wide knife takes up. I don't carry my two Manix 2 LW's much because of that and the Domino seems just as wide. That Smock does catch my eye and if there's a red scale version I may hold out for that. Again thanks everyone!
But if you want really slim in the pocket, the Smock is your knife.

Yeah, the Ikuchi just didn't work for me. Beautiful and very interesting knife, but the flipper wheel tore up my finger.

Re: flipper recommendation
I've got 3 Sliverax, a Mantra 2 and a Southard. The Southard has the best flipping action by a very wide margin due to a very strong detent (borderline too strong). The Mantra 2 and Sliverax could definitely use stronger detents, but it's something you can at least tweak a bit. The Sliverax is my favorite of all of them.

Re: flipper recommendation
What do folks think of the Amalgam as a flipper?
Ok maybe not, it looks HUGE! Sorry.

Re: flipper recommendation
I've come to think that it is a combination of things that tore up my finger the first day. Detent was strong and needed some breaking in. My pinky was in the way some times retaining the blade despite the flipping action on the wheel. And lastly it's a new motion requiring muscle memory I hadn't been using so building up the force behind the detent to spin that wheel took some practice. Sorta like the cramping I get spydie flicking with a ring finger or opposite hand. I can do it but..... Sorta challenging especially if your fingers didn't have any natural calluses.

Re: flipper recommendation
This is the Domino on top of a Manix 2. If you exclude the flipper tab of the Domino, there's about a quarter inch difference in the tallness of the knives in closed position.

Hi Sharp,
Can you point the items needed to make detent mods from Amazon? Thanks! I've got a few Taichungs I'd like to improve the detent with.

It is a bigger knife, but it's a sweet-looking knife. I've never owned one, but I'd like to someday.
