GITD Ladybug Distributor Exclusive

Post by Mushroom »

I just saw a retailer announce a preorder for these. I'm assuming others will have it as well.

It's only $49. And it matches your user name. It's not even an option for you to not buy it. :)

Hi Julia, there was an exclusive with pink scales a few years ago (can't remember where) that was FFG. I wanted to buy a couple for my granddaughters (They're still not old enough to be playing with razor sharp folders. Ah, hahaha!) but shipping was ridiculous so i passed.

if it was coated and/or zome like the big brothers, i wouldn't be able to resist. as it is, i'll fight the urge to pick this one up. barely.

Huh, I wonder why if there were problems with those since all the production ones are still sabre ground.

The only thing that I can think of is being such thin blade stock perhaps there may be warping/distortion in grinding and heat treatment, but I don't rightly know. :)

That's kinda what I was thinking. Or maybe too many complaints about broken/bent blades or something similar. Just a guess.

Distributor Exclusives are different than Dealer Exclusives. This was commissioned by a distributor, and will be available at most of the big dealers and many smaller dealers. Should be easy to get. The non-zome GITD Delicas can still be found easily, and the Zome GITD Delicas and Enduras are still available at a lot of dealers.

It is odd. HAP40, V-TOKU, Super Blue, ZDP-189, and K390 were all FFG. And the VG-10 Manbugs are FFG.

Neat. I’ll probably nab this and swap the handles on my k390 one.

Cutlery Shoppe had a dealer exclusive on the vg10 pink frn Ladybug... Perhaps the ffg blade was also part of the exclusive... (and that's why no one else but CS can have ffg vg10 ladybug?) I never had any issues with mine. I wish all ladybugs were ffg!

It's wierd, for sure. But ffg or not, I'm holding out for TiCN/zome GITD ladybugs and dragonflies. I was never a big zome fan until those delicas came out.
