What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
I got called to do a humane dispatch of a pair of entangled bucks in someone’s garden.
One was already dead. Discreetly shot the other (suppressed 300Blackout). Gralloched and butchered with Warrior and Resilience.
The serrations on the spine of the Warrior were useful for freeing the antlers as they were thoroughly tangled in baler-twine.

it didn't hurt at all because it's so sharp, but yeah, be careful.
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.

Broke down several boxes.
Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
While exercising the joint on my new Para 3 (w/ 52100 steel) I sliced a clean half inch cut in my little finger. I suppose the normal reaction would be to wash the cut with soap and water, control the bleeding, marinate it in Betadine, and put a bandage on it. With me it's, quick wash the blade off so it doesn't rust, dry it, and wipe it with oil.
Blade first aid before finger first aid. It's merely a flesh wound, it wasn't my good finger, and besides, I've got nine more.

Ouch! I did that with a Cold Steel CE Voyager years ago. The tip of my finger was basically guillotined. Not a fan of their serrations, but they sever flesh without missing a beat. :o
Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Did some thinning of my pumpkin patch and removed some leaves that had powdered mold on them. Used my S90v Mule.
Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Slicing paracord to string up my tarp. Then sliced some electrical tape to seal off my handlebars.....lost a bar end plug somewhere in the dark last night while looking for a camp spot.
Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
I took a walk through a local open space to a nearby park. I made a pit-stop at one of the "blue rooms" at the park where I found some genius scratched a swastika in the plastic wall of the blue room. I pulled out my Lady Bug and turned the swastika into a tic tac toe board. Maintenance crews will usually wipe out the graffiti with sand paper, they just hadn't been there yet. Later, back home, I used my PM 2 for kitchen duties.

We're having a bumper crop of Italian Plums this year. The dehydrator has been on full hum for a while now and will be for a bit longer.

That’s awesome, Josh! Our dehydrator gave up the ghost a while back and now I’m thinking I should replace it. :)

Nice! We just bought a proper food dehydrator after drying a huge score of oyster mushrooms in the oven, which took forever. I'm excited to make persimmon leather this fall, too.
