I'll be grabbing a handful of serrated Pac Salts and a Pink delica or two for gifts

I am listing so many of my EDC knives for sale today, now that the Pac Salt is going to FFG LC200N I feel like Inigo Montoya at the end of Princess Bride. Maybe I'll become a pirate?

The SmallFly is the one that I would really like to add to my collection. I'd love to get a balisong, and with its pocket clip and utilitarian blade shape, it'll actually be somewhat practical for EDC.

You´re right, or I even think it will be more than just "somewhat practical fo EDC"! - Endela cutting edge length, not too thick Manix 2 blade stock in ffg, looks to have a long straight section and then a lot of belly towards the tip in the edge, rather low weight...pretty cool!

I do like to play with Balisongs from time to time (I am not good at it, but still know some tricks and figures) but never had one that would actually be practical as an EDC knife.
The SmallFly imho is!
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

:D LC200N would be a good blade steel for pirates. The last time my family watched that film, during the scene where Vizzini feverishly saws at the rope on the Cliffs of Insanity with his plain-edged dagger, my 11-year old son said, “This would go much faster if he had a Spyderco.” :)

Only the Pacific Salt for now. Maybe the pink Delica to complement my purple one.

There is a very high probability of me getting a Smallfly. At an MSRP of $180 I think it’s the best value in the reveal!

I’m not as keen on the Taichung knives as most others here but that Chaparral is talking to me. I’ll need to radius the peak at the back of the choil like I have with my CF one though.

The PE Atlantic Salt is also a possible.

PE & SE Pacific Salts
CBN Bench stone
Police LW K390 is a maybe. If I didn't own the K390 G10 version I'd get one for sure, its a great steel.

I'm a little surprised they went with such high grits for the CBN stone (400/800 mesh). Comparing them to the DMT FAQ it seems the coarse side will be in between the coarse and fine DMT, and the fine side will be between fine and extra fine.

Capture+_2020-09-10-14-36-49.png

Of course that's just what it says on paper.

For reference I use a worn black DMT (Extra Coarse) as a finishing stone for my PE knives and I consistwntly get shaving sharpness right off of it, and my worn DMTfine leaves such a polished edge I don't use it.

I'm really excited to try out the stone for my PE knives. EDCing serrated knives made me want to give all my PE knives a low grit, toothy edge to try and replicate that aggressive slicing action, so the ceramic stones don't appeal to me as they once did. In fact I sold my UF bench stone and gave my UF sharpmaker rods to a friend.
I’m in a similar boat with respect to worn diamond plates. My older 325 grit DMT cuts less aggressively than the 600 DMT that is newer. I have a 220 and a 120 for reshaping, but the 325/400 zone is a hole in my diamond progression at this time. I think I wore it out flattening the backs of chisels.

I figured you’d go for the PAC Salt.

What do you think about the Birdseye Maple Chaparral? I know it’s not an Urban.

CBN Benchstone.
SE Pacific Salt
I want the Pattadese, and would have overlooked the righty liner lock, but I’ll have to think about whether the righty access relief cut in the handle could work for me.
Maybe a 12C27 Grasshopper too...

It’s nice but....not my cup of tea. I wish they released a Chapie with stag(or bone) scales instead.

You would get them whenever spyderco releases them and the dealer gets them. But just be aware, at some places (like Knife Center) if you pre-order multiple knives at a time, they won't ship until they're all in stock. You have to email or call them to ask for a knife to ship separately.

Oh got it. Thank you. So there are no firm dates on the release then?

LOL @ “firm dates.” It’s the Year of the Virus, my friend.

You should subscribe to RamZar’s "Delivered & Upcoming” thread for up-to-date notifications. It’s probably got the highest information density of any thread in the whole place, and it’s not always fast enough to clue you in to sprints and exclusives, but it certainly helps—and I think it’s fairly rare for regular production knives to sell out within minutes of arriving at merchants.
