Show me your keychains!!

#1

Post by steelcity16 »

I've only ever carried SAK Ramblers on my keychains as I've been holding out for a new run of Jesters to get a handful of keychain knives. Well, with no Jester in sight, I think I might just have to bite the bullet on the new TiCN Manbug Wharnies. Those are some really great looking knives and they look like great performers as well. I'll be grabbing a couple for sure.

I'm interested to see how everyone carries their Ladybugs, Manbugs, and Jesters (you lucky few) on their keychains? What setup, accessories, etc are you using? I prefer a minimalist approach to my keychain, so the less bulk the better.

Let's see those keychain knives!! And if you are using special keyrings and things please list the brand/model, and where to get them.

Can I ask why you have a bottle opener in addition to the shard, since it is also a bottle opener?

The cheap regular bottle opener works much better as a bottle opener. The bottle opener on the shard is more difficult to use. The shard is mostly a cheap mini prybar.

I carried a ZDP Ladybug on my keys for years until a few years ago I found myself having to take it off a lot to go into certain places and I got sick of messing with it and never put it back on. Now I'm thinking I may need to find a SE Ladybug.

That little double noose knot worked really well for the Ladybug. It gives you a little more to hold onto and it hangs off your keys nicer.

Mine is just keys. One car key, one house key, and one other key.

I find its more comfortable putting pocket multitools in my pocket. Also means I don't have to listen to them banging around when I drive.

This is an older pic, but I only updated the flashlight to a Fenix UC02SS a few years ago (and the keys):

I carry one of these combos in my watchpocket:

I try to keep my keys light, and with the detachable flashlight I can make them lighter. When carrying the keys the heavy weight flashlight is the only part slipped into my pocket.

I'd like small stainless Spyders like that for my keychains. How about it Sal?

Over the past 17 years my house keys have changed once, my car keys have changed several times, loyalty card have come and gone, and office keys, like me, have been retired. The one constant has been this burgundy Micarta Jester that's been keeping whatever else was current company.

Work keys at top. Hang on waist. I like the CRKT Viva as a belt hanger. I use it everyday for something. Prying scraping. I can adjust stall doors with the wrench cutouts. Hooks and unhooks effortlessly.

Spyderco Endura. Right front pocket. This item changes weekly.

Truck keys at bottom. Carry left front pocket. MiniMaglite, Leatherman6 rarely gets used. Usually just as a lotto scratcher. And a Victorinox Rambler. I greatly prefer the Rambler over the classic for two reasons. Small Phillips head, and the fact that the blade is on the opposite end of the key ring on this model.
