Not interested in balisongs at all. But, I have to buy it. It's too funky to pass up.

I’m liking and looking at this one too! I think it needs to come with a box of Spyderco bandaids!

This thread might get moved to the restricted section though.

I wouldn’t be interested in doing tricks with it, just kind of digging the unique way of opening it.

I’m super excited about this! I love Balisongs but I think most are way too big.

Would have liked to see a trainer released alongside this one. Spyderco bandaids would be awesome. Lol. I cut myself again on my SpyOpera tonight. I keep forgetting how much blade there is. :(

Very excited, I can't pass this one up!
Although, based on my experience with the Baliyo, I'll be fingerless if I try any fancy flipping with the Smallfly! :D

I'm not normally a balisong guy (the only one I own is a family heirloom) but I think I'll have to pick this one up.

According to the reveal, yes they're regular production, just "restricted" in the same way their automatics are.

With all due respect i think it looks like a "BaliSong converted" regular blade in a bit of a "home cooked" fashion.
It hurts my OCD when i compare it to the OG Spyderfly or Hinderer Nieves..

Really, really cool, but what is up with the pricing? $30 over MSRP? I'm not a bali guy at all, but this one I actually really like the look of.. With some mental gymnastics, I could probably get behind picking one up at $180 (MSRP according to the pricing chart..), but $210 is a little too steep for me for a knife I'd probably hardly ever carry..

I think that is a misprint in the pricing list. MSRP appears to be $300, not $180.

Man, I love this! I always kind of wanted one of the originals. I have mixed thoughts on the grind. The original was definitely more “ninja” but this one looks like it will function very well as an actual knife. Ultimately I think the more useful blade shape will see me actually carrying this one more than I would have the original.

I agree with Lance on the blade shape, its not as "pretty" as the original SmallFly or a lot of other balisong blade shapes, but its alot more practical, and if I get one (which I hope to) I'd be carrying it in my normal EDC rotation, so it makes alot of sense. The pocket clip also increases its actual utilitarianism, which is what will help me convince my wife to let me get it rather than if it was purely a "toy".

Does that complexity decrease the simplicity? Not at all.
