What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
I know my not so stellar opinions on Cruwear have been noted lately, but I touched this baby up last night after work and after all of 2 minutes on the browns...it's back to poppin hairs. No complaints in the ease of sharpening/touching up category for Cruwear, that's for sure.

Endura wharnie SE again. Already impressed, SE performs so much better than I could have though!

They are quite mean looking aren't they?Cambertree wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 2:20 amWhoa, those are some mean lookin’ projectiles, Turbo!
What cal, and what do you put ‘em in?
I love Trailboss for making light plinking loads for heavy and medium rifle calibres.
Very nice ‘Bee too. :)
They're Lehigh Defense .458 Cal 300gr Controlled Fracturing bullets that I load for a 458 SOCOM rifle. If they're going to limit how many rounds we're allowed to carry, gotta make sure each one counts.
It's been a bit since I've made any hand loads but taking the kids to the range so often lately has depleted my stock so I figured might as well load up some defensive rounds while I'm at it.

Carried my freshly modded Pacific 2 out kayaking and mountain biking today:
When I got home from the lake I decided that little hump left on the spine was going to keep bugging me, so I took it back to my new sander and gave it more of an Endura 3 look:
Pierces so much better now. No more slipping around trying to puncture plastic jugs before recycling them.

Took the Native 5 to work today, always impressed by this little guy. Here it is this morning after walking the dog, couldn't resist.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.
Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I think it is the bike I always wanted but didn’t know it. It is terrific and a good fit for where I live and how I ride.

Good to hear! I've done a number trips through northern parts of New England on a Sportster and an adventure touring bike has just been calling my name.bearfacedkiller wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 5:44 pmI think it is the bike I always wanted but didn’t know it. DualSports are my favorite machines! I still regret selling my NX650. Currently on the hunt for a Transalp.bearfacedkiller wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 5:44 pmI think it is the bike I always wanted but didn’t know it. It is terrific and a good fit for where I live and how I ride.
I don't do a lot of(any) street riding anymore, though.
After tearing around briefly on an FZR1000, I decided that my responsibilities were far too great to risk:
A.) Riding a machine that accelerated from 0-60 in 2.9s.
B.) Riding 100% on the streets around all these morons in cars, that are playing on their phones.
Now, I just stick to dualsports and my secret pleasure, scooters... Scooters are like couches you can ride around town on. They are excellent!
Oh... I'm carrying my Micro Dyad and Mantra today.

Nice pic! I'm a sucker for that blue and rusty orange background.

Interesting. I thought they might have been Woodleighs, but I notice the fluting inside the hollow points now that you mention it. (The Woodleigh factory is not too far from where I live.)bbturbodad wrote: ↑Thu Aug 20, 2020 1:15 pmThey are quite mean looking aren't they?

That calibre’s not so common in Australia, but I remember having a discussion about how effective it would be as a Sambar deer rifle calibre, up in the mountains with another hunter, last year.
I guess they’d go pretty well in a 45-70 too. They must make a fearsome wound channel.
Back on topic, I had the CE 52100 PM2 and ZDP189 Dragonfly tag teaming today at work.
