Are you EDC'ing your WATU...

#1

Post by gull wing »

......and what are you thinking of it?
It seems like an easy to carry knife, slim and light weight. The blade is thin, should be a great slicer. Speaking of the blade, the CPM 20CV has a good rep.
I want another compression lock, this seems to fit my wants in size, weight, and blade steel.

Hopefully they will still be around when I’ve worn out my other knives that fill that role.

I EDC the Watu now more than any other knife. It has kicked the Delica out of my pocket... it's just more slicey and easier to carry with the deep carry pocket clip. Also very thin in the pocket. A phenomenal knife. I hope they come out with some Sprint runs in Rex45.

I do, but I do rotate regularly. I like the Watu a lot, it delivers on your expectations; easy to carry, very slicey and very pointy. Also, the clip was easy to switch for left-handed carry.

Yep! It’s everything you mentioned and has a very satisfying action. I did have to sand the Spydiehole a bit because mine was so sharp it was shaving down my fingernail. That’d be my only real complaint. Great knife

I did for a week. Coming up on its turn in rotation for another soon too. It’s a phenomenal knife. Slim carry, very sleek/modern, people friendly appearance, thin slicey blade. Absolutely my best cardboard cutter. And I am a huge fan of the minimal jimping. I wish more models went with something like that. Pretty fidget friendly too.

The Watu is truly an excellent EDC knife for the reasons you listed: thin, slicey 20CV blade and the handle fits the hand perfectly even though it doesn’t look like it would. I even jumped on the custom scale wagon with the maker listed in the other recent Watu thread, I like the knife so much! I also managed to install a Lynch NW wire clip replacement onto the knife which to me improved not only the overall ergos but also how “stout” the clip (and knife overall) felt. Couldn’t recommend the Watu any more highly! Cheers, Radioactive :)

I've been EDC-ing the Watu since getting it back in May. Very versatile blade shape, thin and pointy as folding knives are supposed to be looking like ( :p ) and awesome neutral handle ergonomics (no unwanted bumps, choils or that sort of nonsense :p ).

I'm actually considering buying a "pre-need replacement" :) and will most likely be interested in sprints (if they do happen).

I'd also buy a Chokwe if it were to make a return with these new clothes (comp lock & laminated CF).

Absolutely love mine. Patiently waiting on some scales from Karbadize to take it out of the house however.
