I am currently working my way through Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee by Dee Brown. It's an account of Native American history as told from the point of view of Native Americans. Living in Colorado it's got some local interest but overall explains many of the events that brought us to where we are today
That was tough to read, very difficult. But excellently written.

The Spy and the Traitor by Ben Macintyre. Its a little slow but very interesting about turning a KGB officer.

I am reading and pondering St. Augustine's Anti-Pelagian Writings. Deep stuff.

Douglas Blackmon's Slavery by Another Name. A deep dive into Jim Crow. Like Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, not for the faint of heart. You'll want to bathe when you come up for air. But, oh, the writing is superb.

I read both years ago, but I picked this one up again.

For those of you who also are interested in the Manson Murders from 1969 there is a new guy on the scene who has written a very comprehensive book about the Sharon Tate murders entitled "CHAOS" and the author's name is "Tom O'Neill". I've heard him on 3 great talk shows now and this guy has really done his homework.

If you all get the time to see the Tom O'Neill interview done by Joe Rogan I think you'll find it one of Joe Rogan's very best interviews ever. Also Joe Rogan has said that "CHAOS" written by "Tom O'Neill" is one of his all time favorite true crime books ever.

I recently read the David Rivers series by Jason Kasper:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/19735 ... 1973552361

I found them highly enjoyable as light summer "vacation" reading. I also appreciated the fact that his technical details (on things like parachutes that lots of writers get wrong) are totally accurate.

Definitely recommend.
