I have wanted one of these for a long time but I’m trying to buy less knives. Well, I woke up this morning and it was still available so I added it to cart, just for a second to see what it felt like. And well, one thing led to another and before I knew it I was pulling out my credit card. I’ve got one on the way. Hopefully it makes it into Canada without issue. 👍🏻

I have zero self control sometimes. 😂
This story is the exact same story of how I ended up buying one too; except I don't live in Canada.

40 minutes in and not sold out. I wonder if flippers sit back and start sweating when a knife doesn't sell out super fast and start regretting their purchases lol.
I would imagine so.
I hope so.

I bought one, and I would take a $10 reduction in future prices just to screw over the weasels who bought them to make money

Well, I passed on this knife. I prefer my blades au naturel.

The prototype Eric Glesser was showing off had a beautiful uncoated blade, so I passed on this knife in the hope & expectation there will be a satin version down the road (and hopefully not too far down the road.)

In the meantime I have my Double Bevel to satisfy (sort of) my Spyderco Tanto needs.

Just got mine in the mail. See pics on my IG @clipt_poynt

The fit and finish is excellent. I would have done the tanto differently if I designed it, but overall, it’s pretty nice.

That thing looks awesome!
Sucks that I missed it but that’s par for the course for Spyderco limited editions, sprint runs, etc.
Good to hear that more will be coming.

Not worth it. I think more will come in the future.
275 is just crazy high.

More are coming per BHQ. They didn't limit the number you can buy which was a clue.

I'd like to see this in a Military size. Blade seems a bit on the short side.

Yeah! A 4" blade would be great!

I'm not wild about the liner lock, but I think I could get past that for the longer blade. As long as it was non-DLC, of course...

After getting a really good look at it, I'm not interested. The Lum's Tanto is a much better blade.

We just need a frame lock model. ;)

Man how many years has this taken! And each time it's a tease! ...Sprint run or exclusive. So close yet so far!

C'mon Spyderco, what gives??!! At the very least just make this normal tanto tipped PM2 and put it into production! Recreate the tip angles from the lum, you're almost there, just lose the swedge on top (or don't, I'd prefer the extra strength).

Every other major brand has tantos, but my favorite maker has refused to put one into the production lineup for almost 20 years. Limited edition hard use folders are literally pointless for those of us that want a Spyderco tanto to USE. The production Lum's are safe Queens and highly sought after. That's not failure, and besides, they were released back in 2002, it's 2020. Try again.

Spyderco regularly releases some of the most radically far out designs of any knife maker. Right now in production the yojumbo, pochi, canis, etc... yet they don't offer a basic tanto tipped production folder! How am I the only one that doesn't think that's crazy?

Just 2c from a fan since the beginning. Still waiting...

I really like the blade shape. The swedge looks great. When a satin version is released I'll probably get one.

I'm really happy with mine.

For me its usage and carry role will be for specific tasks at home where a tanto is ideal, light miscellaneous EDC, and a last resort tactical role which means it will be with me for most miscellaneous errands.

For a defensive role, I feel that this Tanto profile is better suited than the normal PM2 flat grind due to the stout tip and no belly.

I wasn’t initially too interested in the idea a tanto PM 2 but when I saw the pictures of their final version it piqued my interest. I think the concept was well executed. I’m interested to see what I’ll think of the tanto in use.
