I activate this thread from winter sleep.
Who is the real big (or a little bigger) brother of the DFY?
I have now this Spyders in my little Collection:
Dragonfly 2
Delica 2
Stretch 1
Native 5
Lil Native
UKPK
Roadie
Bombshell (no EDC use)

But DFY is nearly my favorite in EDC.
His brother seems to be most likely the UKPK?

UKPK with a backlock whould be perfekt.
The Caly 3 is a backlock UKPK. They can be found on the secondary market once and a while. Also, there is a Caly 3.5 lightweight in the works currently that would fit the bill, however it is slightly larger than the UKPK or Caly 3

i was going to say the manix 2 lw reminds me a lot of a larger df2, but it's unfortunately pinned also. still a great knife. that's it's only flaw.
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.

I really like the Stretch & Dragonfly combo. They look great together in ZDP!

Going back to the original post, the Para 3 LW may be the closest "big brother" right now. Wire clip, choil, FRN. Different blade shape and different lock but it's not too far off.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

All I did was add a half inch to both ends, the slope of the blade tip and curve of the end of the handle are even the same.

I'm just now realizing how similar the handle is to the Ouroboros.
