When does Spyderco usually announce the discontinued models?

The Discontinued List used to be released in November but became October and last year it was in late September:

  • September 23, 2019
  • October 17, 2018
  • October 12, 2017
  • October 28, 2016
  • November 4, 2015
  • November 26, 2014
  • November 8, 2013

Is there any indication that REX 45 will make a come back, as a regular production or semi regular production?

REX 45 is, by far, my favorite steel that Spyderco uses in folding knives. I would hate to see it disappear.

I really hope the Snap It doesn't get discontinued. If it does I'll have to buy a bunch to stock up. It's a super useful niche knife, and I need it.

I should probably buy a back up Chap Raffir too. I really like it, even though it hasn't been as popular.

I´d hope that the Polestar rather than being discontinued gets an upgrade to BD1N. Guess then I´d certainly get one. It looks like such a great design with a really beautiful handle and a lot of cutting edge.
Ergos (from what I can see) remind me of a "choil-less" Stretch.

Getting a bit of a steel upgrade, it could very well be an alternative for some mid range comp. lock models for those of us who prefer a linerlock...
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

From what Sal has said in the past, I think an upgrade to bd1n is highly unlikely.

It's a nice design, I wish it was made elsewhere.

I think he also said that he´d be working on a new handle for the Polestar...

I could've sworn sal was talking about making a non-budget Polestar.

If anyone is looking, the Gayle Bradley 2 is available at BHQ again. I am not sure if this means that it's off the disco'd list or not?

It's not on any official list this is just a speculation thread. Although sometimes there is a influx of otherwise sold out product before the official discontinued list is announced. Emptying out the storeroom if you will

Wasn't the Rocks Glass a stealth reveal that the Lil' Native Salt will be the back lock? The regular size Native 5 CF/S90V is showing out of stock at the SFO. I hope they make another run of that variant and don't discontinue it.

It was only a sprint. The thread I started about it was just wishful thinking. I don't think Sal or anyone at Spyderco has even hinted at the idea of making it anything more.

I'm guessing the ZDP189 Seki lineup will be disco'd with K390 taking it's place

Why do you think so?
Yes, K390 is really high on the edge retention ladder, so the ZDP, but it is lot less stainless, and ZDP you could sharpen on ceramic to good results, because almost no Vanadium.

But I guess the entire line could be a but overcrowded, VG-10 line, ZDP line, K390 line...

Overcrowded was exactly why I was thinking that.
