Ti Chaparral washer measurements

#1

Post by restless ghost »

Anyone happen to have the measurements for the washers on the Stealth Ti Chap? I'd like to try ordering some from a third party before sending my knife to Spyderco. The knife has sentimental value and I'd be bummed if it was lost in the mail. Thanks in advance.

Are you missing both washers or you don't have a way to measure?

The two that I have are too damaged to get an accurate measurement. The inner diameter is stretched/bent. Beyond that I don't have a super accurate caliper, so my thickness measurement would probably be off too lol.

I only have the CF Chap & a LW. I can't imagine they'd use different washers in the Ti vs the CF versions. I'm in the middle of a project but when I get the chance I'll take my CF Chap apart and get you the dimensions of the washers. Might not be until some time this weekend

Don't have the dimensions but, logically, the ID should be just a hair larger than the OD of the female half of the pivot screw. If they're the same as the ones on the CF version, then the OD appears to be about 3X the ID, That shouldn't be critical as long as it's small enough to not interfere with the stop pin. Thickness would be whatever thickness your damaged ones are.

Not my knife, not my photo, but should give you an idea of size...

Sorry RG! I actually put my CF Chap on my work bench over the weekend but never found the time to actually take it apart. I saw it sitting there last night before I went to bed and meant to send you an apology sooner. My little 3D printing business is taking up most of my free time. Not a lot of extra time for knife related fun. I'll see what I can do later tonight

Here you go Mr Ghost!

As I suspected the washers are metric

OD = 10 mm
ID = 4.5 mm
Thickness = .12 mm

Sorry again it took me longer that I wanted to get to this. Now you can stop being so restless ;)
