Triple B/Spyderco Folder
Re: Triple B/Spyderco Folder
Sal says they won't sell him srs15, but SRS 13 is in line
Re: Triple B/Spyderco Folder
SRS 13 should be its own sprint run series in Seki Endura family.
BBB colab should be CPM 15V . Sal said that he carried a prototype and it was very nice.

Really look forward to Shawn's colab in 15V and hope there is a CPM 15V MT in the future as well!

Re: Triple B/Spyderco Folder
Is there any word this will be a folder? I hope it is but I can see a version of his custom fixed blade coming out.
From what I remember from the 15V thread, I’m guessing this will be in 15V with a very hard heat treat and fairly thin behind the edge.

Re: Triple B/Spyderco Folder
It's been confirmed 15v folder
Re: Triple B/Spyderco Folder
Shawn's design is very nice. He said he preferred that it be made in Golden. I told him Golden was backed up. Shawn said he would wait as long as it takes. I've been watching production closely to see where we can squeeze it in.

Re: Triple B/Spyderco Folder
Amazing!!! I literally just heard about this idea right now from this thread and I am doing a happy dance. I've always admired BBB from afar, and though I haven't been able to grab a custom, I have learned a ton about steel and sharpening from his videos. This is an instant buy, and a shining star to look forward to on the horizon during these topsy turvy times.
Thanks for making me smile from ear to ear this morning :D

Love you guys
Re: Triple B/Spyderco Folder
Definitely one I'm looking forward to.
Re: Triple B/Spyderco Folder
Will this be the first Golden collaboration? I hope it starts a trend. Can't wait to see what BBB has come up with.

This is probably one of the funniest replies I have read in a while! Definitely some truth to it :)The Meat man wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 5:11 amIf you're a member of this forum it's not about needs anymore.TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 9:22 pmHonestly, I feel like some of these steels coming out are so insane and so overdone for 99% of the population. Yes, it's definitely cool to see what their capable of, but I bet NOBODY here really needs something this extreme for a Spyderco folder
People that cut apples and slice cardboard think they need the most extreme and exotic steel, suddenly 4V or even recently released 10V isn't enough..

I wouldn’t call 1978 recent.

I was referring to Spyderco's recently released 10V PM2, haven't seen any other Spyderco's with 10V, but thanks

The Waterway and Siren are both Golden collaborations.

Re: Triple B/Spyderco Folder
Thanks for the info Sal, and I can appreciate Shawn's request for his design to be made in Golden. Being willing to wait is also admirable, as I imagine he is deferring on a not insignificant amount of income.
Gotta admire a man's commitment to his vision.
Re: Triple B/Spyderco Folder
Thank you. I always forget about the salt knives, although, those are 2 I shouldn't have forgotten about. :eek:The Meat man wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 8:23 pmThe Waterway and Siren are both Golden collaborations.
Re: Triple B/Spyderco Folder
I really missed that Shawn will come up with his own Spyderco design!
Certainly curious now what it might look like...

Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):

Re: Triple B/Spyderco Folder
I'm pretty certain the bladeshape and handle will keep to his "Trapper" design, a nice sweeping blade and a rounded, comfortable handle. I'm definitely curious how the knife will look like closed and how well the curvatures fit into each other if that makes sense. I'm also curious what locking mechanism will it use (Backlock/Compression/CBBL would all be perfect fits imo).
