Swayback. Now the waiting begins, the last Spydie that I bought took almost two months to cross the pond. Hopefully the situation has improved. Crossing fingers...
I got that 52100 Military. It is a very well done piece. So glad I got a chance to grab a new one. I hope everyone is as happy as I am with their incoming knives.
Ordered a knifejoy Damascus Endura last night and threw in a small spyderpac too. Being my first PE VG10 Endura it should round out my Endura collection nicely, and with a little flare to boot!
Well guys after weeks of comparing specs and watching a ton of videos that turned into a month or so I finally made a decision...and what I ordered today was my 4th spyderco...and it is a Mantra 2 it's should be here by Friday just got tracking numbers but no arrival date yet.
Thank you to all those members who gave me advice with this. :D
yes pics plz. where did you happen to find scales, i wanted to try a dragonfly but dont want the colors they have for sale.
You do know that the Dragonfly has a backlock right? I've been seeing your backlock hate spewing strong recently.
i do know its a backlock, i keep trying them and it never seems to stick. i actually have been vocal about just my opinion the entire time i have been here and honestly the last one was in May, about not liking backlocks. me and gernot have talked many times about it in the forums and pms, i like talking with gernot he has respect that its just my opinion and his opinion. i have always been respectful about it and not called anyone names. just pointed out that i do not like them in my personal opinion. it is good spyderco makes all lock types and there is a big variety for everyone including the people who love the lockbacks. i am not taking anything away from lockbacks they will just not be for me likely. i do feel allot of people have jumped on me because i do or do not like something and i have not done it to anyone else. i do feel there needs to be balance to all conversations for and against, and seeing as how very few people dislike lockbacks on this forum or people are generally mean to those of us who do not like them is crazy. so no i am not SPEWING anything, just discussing and before this i thought you made good posts most of them time.

I know you said you didn't like the way backlocks snap shut because it can bite your fingers. How do you close your lockbacks? Here's a quick video with a few different methods. Maybe a different closing method would give you safer results?
The second method is what I use. Keeping the pivot fairly tight and indexing the opening hole with my finger means the blade cannot swing freely. The entire closing motion is completely manual.
The last method is easier with a looser pivot and a more broken in knife. It lets you close the knife while keeping your fingers completely clear of the edge. With my broken in Pacific Salt 1's I can close them this way in one smooth motion.
i normally use the first or third but prefer the second. i just havent found a knife with the right distance to the hole and lock for my hand size to be comfortable. i can use all those methods. i do still like my blade to swing freely.
i think a dragonfly might work but i still wouldnt like the lock.
