Heck yeah. I'll take option B. In k390 since it's regular production in seki now. Serrated if possible.

Well, MKM thinks it is a useful blade style as they produce their ISONZO in a similar sized package in reverse-S. I'm not sure Spyderco could hit the same price point while still making it in Japan.

That Isonzo is $84.90 vs the Hawkbill Dragonfly Salt @ $71.40, so a much lower price point than the MKM seems entirely possible. I would think an H1 Dodofly Salt would be priced the same as the Hawkbill.

Yeah $85 for n690/frn isn't a super deal by any means. I paid significantly less than that for the teal s30v/frn dragonfly. I guess the isonzo has liners, but is a complete non issue for me in this size range.

The Dodofly would have a more complicated grind which increases production costs. I suspect it would be closer to $95, but would pleased if it came in nearer to the Salt hawkbill.

Yeah, who knows. I find their the pricing of grind X vs grind Y or DLC vs Satin or steel A vs steel B is no always what I would expect based on other models.

$95 is still a good deal in my book, but I will cross my fingers for $71.40 if these actually make it to production. :D

The matriarch is a reverse s blade endura and costs $14 more than an standard endura. If you add that difference to the standard dragonfly (66.50) I come up with $80. Even if you start with the salt price, you're looking at $85 total. And The endura sized blades take a bit more grinding than a dragonfly.

Honestly, anything around the $100 range will be well worth it.

Can't believe I never saw this thread. I loved my dodo, in all facets save one, the lock. I love the CBBL so I assumed I would equally love and enjoy using the BBL, but sadly I had no such luck.
Pair that awesome blade (or the elongated version), with some Jester-like forward jumping, and the legendary mid lock sounds like a winning recipe to me. And for around the $100 price point, Sal should make this happen.

I'm always in support of more oddball models like this. I'm all for it! plus at the dragonfly's price-point it would likely convert more people to the church of weirdbladeshapesthatarehardtosharpen.
Lightly insane.

Thanks for bumping this thread! I agree with all you said. The Jester-esque forward jimping would really make this special. I have to imagine they could make this happen using the existing Dragonfly handle if they put their mind to it. This and a Reverse-S Cricket-fly are my dream!
