Father's Day Spydercos

Anyone get a new Spyderco as a Father's Day gift?

I'd planned on maybe getting a ParaMilitary 3 in SPY27, but decided to get a Spyderco I've been curious about for a while:

The Roadie.

A lot of times at home I just grab my Pingo or another slipjoint to cut stuff. So I ordered a Roadie in Grey today and should have it next week sometime.

Congrats!

I've ended up buying myself discounted disco'd Spydies right around Father's day for a few years now, it's become something of a tradition. This year it was a little early, but I got a PE black/black Pacific Salt 1. Past years included an awesome deal on a blue PITS and a Pingo. After that they kind of blur together. I buy too many knives to keep track, lol.

Welcome! Spyderco annouces discontinued models here annually sometime in the fall and dealers tend to discount a lot of them sharply as MAP is no longer in effect. I've gotten many deals from the "usual suspects" like KnifeCenter, BladeHQ, Knifeworks, and CutleryShoppe. Then after deals sell out at popular retailers, I've found a lot of silly deals on Ebay. Never been burned there, but you need to be a little more savvy about possible counterfeits and who you're buying from.

A lot of the best deals are mentioned here on the forum in the "crazy deals" or other threads. The Pac Salt I just got was marked down to $59.99 on Ebay (now all gone) and I owe it to a lead posted by another member.

no spydies today, but i got some boker stuff. i got the balisong trainer and a brass bolt action pen, both of which i’ve been wanting for a while now.

my son likes my balisong trainer so much that i just had to order the smaller version for him. :)

happy father’s day, all!

Got a C27 on the way. Technically the day after Father's Day, but I'll count it.

You will love the Roadie once you understand it. I kept two and gave 8 away as gifts.
