Will there be a Shaman 2?

I'm wondering what peoples thoughts are. What would you change on this knife to make it better?

There is apparently a Shaman in the works that won't have a 50/50 choil.

Sal announced he is testing a choil-less Shaman model. Still in the testing phase, so don't get too exited for pending release.

Sal mentioned that he's working on a version that doesn't have the forward finger choil that connects to the blade. That's about all we know at this point.

Is this a different version from the "Kissing Cousin" Sal was discussing back in March?

"We'll probably keep the full flat on the Shaman to be able to take more "abuse". I am working on a "kissing cousin" of the Shaman. Lighter and used the same ergos, but totally different materials. 'mI thinking to make it a high hollow to save weight."

Not sure but he doesn't mention the choil at all there, makes me think that's a third version.

Don't know... could a "kissing cousin" literally have "the same ergos" without the prominent Shaman finger choil?!
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):

-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Some how I had missed out on this Sal quote! A high hollow grind with the same handle as the Shaman sounds delicious! I’ve handled a Shaman once, and, Lord willing, will pick up the Micarta and Z Wear sprint.

Yeah, his comment about "...Lighter and used the same ergos, but totally different materials..." makes me think it could be something closer to a Manix2 LW -- same general shape but no or smaller liners, FCRP instead of G10... whatever it is/will be, I'm fairly certain it will be awesome!

Hi Michael

Welcome to our forum.

JMM,

I have 2 new designs based on the Shaman. Both are still a ways off, so not much to say.

I would love a shaman with no choil and thinner blade stock similar to manix 2. I like shaman ergos better than just about any folder ive used but its overkill for most of my daily cutting tasks so I find myself carrying the manix 2 more often. I dont often choke up on either knife despite having L to XL hands.
