Sprint Vallotton?

#1

Post by MacLaren »

Hi Sal,
Was just wandering about the possibility of a Sprint Run of the Vallotton. Nothing to change the appearance or anything, just a new steel. Like CTS-204P or any of that family?
Or, actually how about a 4V version?
At any rate, I just love my Vallotton and wanted to get this request out there. Thanx!

A white linen Micarta or polished white Micarta would be the greatest IMO:

The Vallotton has earned its stripes imo.
Definitely worthy of a Sprint Run :D

I sold mine to a retired officer who fell in love with it after about the 20th time he asked if I was carrying it. I probably would have kept it forever otherwise. I'd probably be interested in a sprint, depending on the combo.

I'm down with this.

As for steel, you know what I would choose. ;)

Have you ever held a Vallotton before?
I think the Polished G10 is just as bit as good as smooth carbon fiber.
It's an awesome blade.

I just love everything Carbon Fiber. I get tired of colored anything, carbon fiber is basically black with so much more depth. Nowadays it’s about the only thing that makes me jump on a knife. I do love burgundy though :D

Oh, I understand :)
Its just that polished G10 on the Vallotton, Spyderco did extremely well with it.

Honestly, a sprint with a nice steel and polished white or burgundy G10/Micarta might interest me. A knife with bolsters need a classy color.

Ya know fellas, maybe a Sprint Run really should be done....it could be to honor Butch, who just recently passed
Hopefully Sal will let us know whether this is possible or not

Looking forward to seeing this design. Hopefully it will be tip up only, it was a real shame the bolsters got the swiss cheese treatment on the last two models.

I wonder if we would ever see an AUTO version of the Vallotton with the hidden scale switch? Like the custom mod Mr. Valloton would do to the production pieces. That would really be something special! :spyder:

I think "blackwood" CF (crosscut to show side grain instead of weave) would work very well for the Vallotton.
White paper micarta is another good choice.

I love the polished G-10 and the thick liner lock. The Mini has better handle contouring. What ruins them both for me is the Spydie hump. Take that away and those knives become beautiful.
