Hi Joe,

Thanx much for your service.

You have an S90V Carbon Military. Pretty high stepping for a first. Good taste.

We're sure to do more with Military model variations. Eric just gave me a Millie 2 Compression lock he's been working on. The Military is a very functional classic and we're sure to do more with it.

Right now, we have so many new models, exclusives and variations that we're having to triage priorities.

"We do have a "Leaf jumper" in-the-works as well" (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=86534&p=1418039#p1418031)

Sal on a variation (?) of the (Wharnie blade) Rock Jumper in the "Rockjumper discussion thread" (if the "Leaf Jumper" would be a larger, leaf blade version of the Rock Jumper, we´d essentially have a backlock Caribbean!! :) )
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

I'm hoping for a K390 Police 4 LW, Endela, Straight Spine Stretch, Jester, Delica Wharnie, and Dragonfly Wharnie in the next reveal.
Hi Steelcity,

No plans for a Jester.

I wonder why it’s being redesigned as a back-lock rather than a compression lock, or even just keeping the same liner lock.

I'm guessing it's at least partially to keep costs on the lower side, and maybe partially due to limitations of the manufacturers. Have any budget line/Chinese-made spydies had comp locks?

Edit: Whoops, just realized Sal said the new design is for Golden. So a comp lock would be possible. But Golden does make excellent back locks...

I too would've liked to see it with a comp, but I'm happy to see the Polestar get upgraded. This design deserves it.

Oh, also... LC200N wouldn't be bad ;)

Yea this is so close to my imagined perfect Spyderco... the Polestar with a comp lock. So close :(

Have you tried a Caribbean? Similar design with comp lock. Slightly bigger with bumble scales though.

I know you were mistaken and edited but just so it’s stated, if anything making it a backlock would make it more expensive. Looking at the Golden knives and disregarding other differences like liners and such, the G10 Native is more expensive than the PM2, which is more expensive than the G10 Manix. I would think keeping it a liner lock or making it a Compression Lock would make it less expensive than a back-lock variation.

I thought it would be pretty great too, it would be like a Golden made Caribbean, which would be epic.

Another example would be he Lil’ Native. The Compression Lock is less expensive than the Backlock. Other than their lock design the knives are the same. Same materials and the same manufacturing facility. Personally I prefer a backlock.
