Our first coffee mug maybe 20+ years ago was a black cup with white bugs crawling all over it. I'm going to try to recreate something like that first. Maybe a black cup with red bugs all over it.

Honestly, I think white on black sounds right. Maybe switch it up to black on white, so it's different from the original.

I’ve been using 12-oz cups lately, specifically a couple vintage Boynton cartoon cups. I like the shape and lip. They also stack well in the cupboard. And they’re made in Japan, which is cool

Whatever the design, I just hope they hold at least 15 ounces. :)

Count me in on the 15oz+ preference. My favorite mugs are like 17 oz ones.

Red spyders all over would be cool and so would one big lone red spyder. I just want it black, and big enough for a real cup of coffee.
Your last point....Making it big enough for a real cup is key...16 ounce coffee cups are much better than the little ones.
I've been very happy with a pair of these 22oz coffee mugs we got on sale last year while visiting Philadelphia. I'd love a Spyderco-branded version.
That is a serious coffee mug, befitting of the Spyderco logo.

I will also say a larger than “average” mug would be great.

Does that complexity decrease the simplicity? Not at all.

I will probably begin with a 12 oz. mug that is straight sided and the top and bottom are the same size and the handle is large enough and can hang the mug on a hook up or down. I believe this is the most efficient shape. I will see if they make a larger version?

I have several BRCC ceramic coffee mugs. Gloss black with BRCC logo on one side and "Tactisquatch" on opposite side.
Another mug has BRCC logo and "Glock Out". These are 14 ozs.
I think gloss black with red "Spyderco" and a large RED spydie logo on the opposite side. That's my opinion :-) I know, I know, everybody has one !
