Spyderco Face Mask (now bandana, hat and patch)

#1

Post by Dazen »

Since we will probably be wearing these for the foreseeable future I thought it mite be cool to have a Spyderco one.

Maybe black with a ghosted bug on it and attached with paracord around the neck and head.

Find a spyderco bandana and you can make one really easily! No need to sew.

Last time I wore a mask in public was 60 years ago when I was 14 years old and it was Halloween. :D

About 10-15 years ago, Gail, Eric and I were thinking to make decorator masks because we felt that sometime in the future, more people will follow the Japanese in wearing a mask when one was sick.

I think we need another bandana. I really liked the size of the spyderco bandanas. I wish I had bought 10 but I only snagged 2 back then.

Sure seems like the right time to put that plan in motion!

Personally, I wouldn't buy one. This face mask thing won't last forever and I for one will be glad when it's over.

Hi Julia,

10 years too late now. I try to get things going about 10 years ahead so when the time comes, we're already established and know what we're doing. The UKPK is such an example. We designed and built the knife when the UK changed their laws. Sales were slow initially, but now our Slipits have gained enough attention that many knife companies are now making slip-joints.

Back to the future!

(Some of us traditionalists still love 'em. The knives grandpa hooked me on back in the 50's.)

Makes total sense, of course. But your instincts were right 15 years ago!

Really I just think another round of Spyderco bandanas would be great. :D

I like this idea, but prefer the lightweight polyester neck gaiter. It is much more versatile and can be used for so many other things than just Covid.

I’m with you on this one. It seems like the face mask is quickly becoming a controversial and divisive symbol. Plenty of companies are going to make some $$ selling them but if my company name was already established I wouldn’t get anywhere near that market.

If Spyderco were to make a mask, it should be void of material outside a real spider outline, maybe with a couple legs as ear straps.

This mask thing is very contrary to human health, but that's a different subject.

I live in NY, if your out in public without a mask...your shamed and are the bad guy. Different rules for different states I guess. I anticipate us having to wear them another few months... I'd love a Spyderco mask to switch things up a bit!
