Happy to be hiding in the woods during all this. Mushroom growing time again!!!

Image
Are you hunting mushrooms or cultivating them? As always...so jealous of the caly!
Cultivating shiitake. Did some three years ago and had great results. Used beech then and am using Hop Hornbeam and Sugar Maple this time. Also a single piece of cherry as an experiment.
That's awesome! A friend of ours has a little mushroom farm and gave us a few Oyster blocks, which we spread out in our woods. Hoping the ones that sprout from the block will spread spores elsewhere. Fingers crossed!
I have only done shiitake. I pick a lot of lions mane in the woods and it is a favorite of mine. Thought about cultivating some. Also want to do oyster and maitake. Next year I will add one of the three.

Good luck this year! We've only found lion's mane once in our woods, but it was delicious! Maitake are a favorite of ours to hunt in the fall - we've got 4 trees that produce each year...so far.

I DO work, my friend.. :) (though just a bit over 30 hours a week, great, but on the flipside: I am not a wealthy man... :) )

Still, even in regular times, I manage to be in the mountains three or four times a week (running, hiking, mountaineering, skitouring, climbing...). Rather easy to do, cause I live in midst of mountains and, well, there are headlamps...

In this Corona-times I can just work partly and only from home, and only not to severe hikes are allowed. But for those I have a lot of time at the moment, almost each single day (part of the day that is) if I want to.

EDIT: I even tried to volunteer in a Corona hospital cause I´d have enough spare time, but here in Austria the Politicians acted quick and early, so there are really not many sick people and my help is not needed.

Cold has definitely got me worried. Our forecast is calling for snow this week :o

On a different note, I have to post this pic from last year.

Even though my Native 5 in Rex45 is my current darling my old Delica in Hap40 still gets pocket time.

For some reason that Native looks so bulky, and the blade so tiny. Maybe it's the angle of the pic?

What's the plan for the St Nick's G10 scales?
15 :bug-red 's in 10 different steels
1 - Bradford Guardian 3 / Vanadis 4E Wharnie
1 - Monterey Bay Knives Slayback Flipper / ZDP 189
1 - CRK Small Sebenza 31/Macassar Ebony Inlays
1 - CRK Large Inkosi Insingo/ Black Micarta Inlays
1 - CRK Small Sebenza 31 Insingo/Magnacut

Yeah, now that you mention it I see what you're saying... I just took the laminate S90V/CPM-154 blade out swapped it with my Native5 LW Rex45 blade, they are both absolutely perfect in their respective new homes. ;)

I'm not hating! I love when people customize their knives to their own liking. I find it funny when people are scared disassemble a knife...it's a very simple task!
