Wasn't happy with the edge out of the box on my LW (G10 was fine) but after a few minutes on the Venev 800 diamond stone it was tree topping and whittling just the way I like em. :D

Thanks! Rex45 is too nice of a steel to not have it at optimal sharpness.

Reprofiled by hand using a Diamond Triangle, then added a 15° microbevel. She ain't pretty, but she sure is sharp.
First attempt at a reprofile.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
I can't either with the Sharpmaker but with a relatively sharp knife it doesn't take much effort on a bench stone. The trick is to not let them get too dull and then just use a bench stone like a strop.Wartstein wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 10:26 pmbbturbodad wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 6:36 pmWasn't happy with the edge out of the box on my LW (G10 was fine) but after a few minutes on the Venev 800 diamond stone it was tree topping and whittling just the way I like em. :D

Thanks for the compliments, guys. It feels great in the hand now.
Nice. How do you like it? I’m missing using mine because the restaurant closed for now. I bet you would have really put one to work in your past job. I remember all your well used knife pics. Stay safe in the big city, bro.
