Not sure if this model will end up working for me, but I will say...for $112, it's a steal in this format with Rex45. $7 more than the standard version in S30V! Super lightweight, pretty thin in the pocket, great lockup with the backlock in one of the best steels around these days for just over $100.

I like the Para 3, but the Native 5 fits my hand better than any other model. It is the the most comfortable in hard use when real force is being applied. This is compared with the Para 3, PM2, Military, Sebenza and Inkosi (large and small). I don't have the G10 version, just the lightweight. Some have the standard clip, some have the MXG deep carry clip. It has a smaller pocket profile without the hump in the blade, so it is not as much of an issue reaching in your pocket for other things that may be there. And in my opinion the lockback's good detent is a positive aspect. It won't come open on its own if it is dropped or if there is hard impact (like an accident).

Of course, YMMV with how it fits your hand and lock preference, but it woks for me.

I really like how Rex 45 sharpens.

A lightweight Rex with some lightweight Rex 45. Special thanks to KnivesShipFree for doing such an excellent job with packing and shipping.

Sitting around at KnifeCenter and DLT for such long periods of time, annoyed with myself for panic buying from St Nick's and not earning rewards points from either of the other places

My friend is big Texas Longhorns fan. I almost bought another one for him from KC or DLT just for the rewards points. :) Then I came to my senses and realized I have some more knife purchases coming up....and then there's bills to pay too.

I'm shocked these are still available. Very surprising for any Rex45 sprint, but especially at this price.

On a different note, I took mine apart last night just for the heck of it to see what a going on inside. I was surprised to see there are no washers in this thing! Is that correct or did I receive an incomplete model haha!

Yeah, the Native 5 is like a dream for maintenance! I haven’t taken apart many different models, but compared to the few I have taken apart, such as a Para_____ or Strech_____, the Native 5 LW is as easy as can be. No standoffs, no separate lanyard tube, no washers, no liners.

Just snagged one from NK. I have been waffling back and forth on this piece since it dropped and I simply cannot let another opportunity to grab one pass me by-again. I love the native, (this will make #3) , I love the burnt Orange frn and I love that it's a Sprint in REX 45 for a lil over a $100 ....

Is it just my imagination, or is the FRN from Golden even sharper than the Seki and Taichung FRN? Boy this is some grippy stuff. Going to need a touch of sanding to save my pockets, but I love the light weight and durability of the material.

Not your imagination. My Golden FRN is way sharper/ shreddier than my Seki FRN. Part of the issue on the native is where the clip contacts the bug circle. On my Stretches it is a larger flat figure 8 shape which smoothes entry and exit.
