Is the prohibition on mountaineering etc. based on keeping SAR teams safe from exposing themselves while retrieving a lost/stranded/injured person?
I would guess so. That is a large part of the reason here in WA that we are not backcountry skiing and mountaineering under "corona rules."

This is all self-enforced though.

Another part of the logic is to reduce demand for SAR/ EMS personnel and first responders broadly-- in the case there were an incident. The medics are all overloaded with Covid response.

Many of us are just trying to stay in our own neighborhoods, so no real mountain biking either. This is good for me riding my BMX bike-- but still have to keep it mellow.

Enactive explained it very well already in his reply!

Yes, the reasons are:
1.) Members of rescue teams could come in too close contact with a possibly Covid-infected person
2.) Members of medical rescue teams are needed elsewhere momentarily (at least they should be in readiness concerning Covid-patients)
3.) If you get hurt in the mountains, you might occupy a hospital bed that is needed for Covid-patients
4.) Tbh: I think they also want to prohibit that people meet up in the mountains... many people where I live are more or less mountaineers or at least hikers, it would be no problem at all to start individually, but then meet as a group in some remote place...

I don´t want to sound cocky at all, but I know I would be safe and not hurt myself even in more remote and severe mountain areas.
Still, I think it would be very selfish to set a bad example and not cooperate, so it´s just rather harmless hikes on my own for me these days.. :) - not really a sacrifice anyway ;)

Here my Endura on todays hike

That shot makes the blade look transparent! The circumference of the orange in the reflection matches well.

I love those scales Spydergirl. I've seen a couple on Instagram and think that's a great look!

The SuperBlue Calypso jr. has been in my pocket these past few days...
Also here is a good read about an interesting character from the Spanish Golden Age in the XVI Century. A good book always helps to pass these long days...

Rounded the scales on my Lil Native, and now I’ll finally use it. Feels way better. Now, I have to do the same to my HAP40 Caly 3. So harsh on the hand when square and new.

After 2.5 days of work, as expected the 52100 has lost its initial screaming sharp edge. Still cuts paper, though not completely cleanly. Still more than enough working edge left. See what I can find Friday to test out its toughness.
