Why do the cool knives come out when we’re jobless?
Grocery stores are hiring temps. Medical and Pharma are pretty recession and pandemic resistant.
But this guy has spent a great deal of time and energy perfecting cooking

Just snagged one from Knifeworks. The only sprint run of anything I didn’t have to pay scalper prices. I really hope Spyderco does a light weight Sage 5 in this steel.

Very fast shipping from Utah to California; great job BladeOps! Very happy with this little guy. My first Native, and though smaller than I expected, it's a great "in-between" knife. The color is fantastic; I was thinking I'd have to dye them, but I think I'll keep it stock. The pivot is a little tight, even after oiling. Probably going to open it up, don't think it'll break in on it's own.

The clip seems like it's Stonewashed, rather than the typical Satin from the Seki LW knives. Has anyone else noticed that? I wonder if that's to coincide with a potential patina. My K390 hasn't patina'd in 6 months or so, I wonder if this little guy will.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

The FRN Rex Native is excellent! Had a little sunshine today and looking forward to the cherry trees fruiting out!

I'm excited to try out some ~67 HRC steel! :spyder: Holy amazing production heat treatment!

It's a big leapfrog for me from Cruwear as my hardest blade.

I had expected to have some K390 in the form of a Police 4 or Seki sprint before I got any REX 45. I am excited to try out the very hard but not-too-carbide-loaded REX. With the Covid-19 shutdown, not sure when i will put it to more than casual use. I'm planning to get a K390 Stretch 2 when they are available and fighting any urges to get a Hap 40 Stretch 1 while i still can get one NIB.

I'd love to hear how it compares with Cruwear! I haven't sampled that yet myself.

And I'm also quite looking forward to the Stretch 2 in K390 - hoping they offer the Straight Spine. :-)

Seems I'm still too slow on the trigger. Any of the major retailers not get theirs in yet or are we down to the mom and pop spots?

It DESTROYS Cruwear. Not even close. Cruwear is pretty middle of the road, great all around steel...but was a little too hyped up when it came out.

Yes, on wear resistance and strength Rex wins. On sharpening response and corrosion resistance, Cruwear wins handily. This all according to others, curious if my results will be the same.

I haven't had to give either of my Rex45's a full sharpening yet, because of amazing wear resistance! But I know that it touches up pretty easily to that scary sharpness we all love!

Cool! I still need to get CBN or diamond SM rods. Have you touched up on the brown stones?

Yep, didn't NEED to go further...but I still gave it a few licks on the Fines and UF's for the heck of it.
