What was your first Spyderco?
Facebook showed me this photo from 2012 – my 1st Spyderco, the Stretch in ZDP-189, complemented by my 2nd, the Dragonfly 2 in ZPD-189. Every once in awhile they show you a photo "from this day" 1-10 years ago.
I had been saving up for a BM 940, when I got play with with a few Delicas and Enduras. Then someone showed me an FFG Delica. Finally, I saw the ZDP Stretch in a new Spyderco magazine and couldn't resist. I still think it's a **** of a pair. Great steel, great ergonomics, and so light! I feel like with these two knives you could do just about anything.
Unfortunately, I lost both of these around 2015, within a few weeks of one another. I do plan on replacing both, but I'd sure love to see a ZDP-189 Stretch with a Straight Spine in British Racing Green. :-)

Edit: forgot the image!

Re: What was your first Spyderco?
First and second. Dad picked up a couple variations of the top one while I was still in high school. I got this one and he kept the serrated model with the flag cut out. When I had money of my own a year or two later I got the bottom one.
Re: What was your first Spyderco?
Blue Endura 4 FFG when they first came out. Can’t remember the year.
I do not have it anymore and yes, I do regret selling it.

Re: What was your first Spyderco?
Original Dragonfly, and a stainless Endura which I purchased at my first job at a True Value hardware store in the late nineties. Sadly, neither are in my possession anymore as they were amongst several things stolen when my college apartment got broken into.
Re: What was your first Spyderco?
Sage 5 for me. I almost wish I had grabbed something I didn't like so much...I'd have a lot less knives, and a lot more money right now :p

Delica combo edge... don´t know anymore when I got it exactly.
I prefer longer cutting edges these days in my main EDC knives, but other than that the Delica for me is still great and by far the best option in that size category (given that the Chap belongs in a one-step-smaller category...)
My sturdy sabre grind model is still my main hard use and climbing knife. Takes like a champ whatever I throw at it... :)

Santoku by more than a decade.
When it comes to folders, First was SpydieChef. I seriously considered going for the Shaman first, but waited several months on that one. The Native family and Stretch seem to be my favorites aside from the Chef.

Southard for me. First knife over 50 bucks, so I decided to go hard, haha.
Probably flipped it a zillion times. I've moved away from framelocks now.

Re: What was your first Spyderco?
Mine was a CF Chaparral and, of course, I still have it! :D
If the Lil Native existed back then, I would have bought that and been satisfied for a long time. May not have ever started collecting Spyderco the way I do now!

You did! Fortunately, cause I always love to see a Stretch...
Great first Spyderco, heck, it would even be a great ONLY Spyderco!! (But I think it is a myth that there are actually human beings who can really stick to just ONE... :D )

Gen 3 Endura with ATS-55 blade. That was shortly followed by a Calypso JR with black micarta handles, which I still regret selling.
