Pink wharnie please!
Seconded! I want a pink wharnie Dragonfly with an upgraded steel(LC200N? ;))

I like the handle on my Dfly, but I think the wharnie is the proper blade shape. It will really make that knife shine.

As for the steel. I can dream, can't I?
OH OH OH! It could be called the Himalayan Salt!!!
LOL!!! :D This is actually a great idea!

Was there ever any progress made with colored glow in the dark FRN? Maybe a GITD Pink could be cool! It would have a similar translucent effect as those Himalayan Salt lamps. :D

Awesome news. A SAK is the only pink knife I have, but I'd absolutely buy a pink dragonfly (or ladybug!!!) for myself, especially with a unique blade shape. Probably a delica, too.

I spoke with management today and we'll plan on bringing the Delica ad D'fly in pink back into the line. We'll have to change something so as not to hurt earlier models. Maybe a blade shape change. Still full flat.

We'll look at other models after watching demand.

sal
Thank you Sal! The pink D'fly strikes a unique balance of capability and unobtrusiveness; non-knife afis think it's cute rather than intimidating and it's still an incredibly capable tool!
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

You could simply use a different shade of pink, perhaps, and save money.

I am courious with what kind of blade shape change they might come up with, given it will still be ffg...

- Wharnie (since there are no PINK Wharnie Delicas, right?) ?
- Would for example a leaf shaped blade Delica still be a "real Delica"?
- "Inward curved spine" like the Stretch ?
- What probably many would like to see: Pointier tip like the "old Delicas" (though I personally much prefer the slight "drop" towards the tip on the current model!) ?
- Maybe LONGER blade (there would be space in the handle for it, but it would also make the Delica "illegal" in more places)?
- Something really unusual like let´s say a recurve?!

Fun to speculate... :)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

One humble suggestion, if I may:

Make the pink Delica the first non-wharnie-Delica that comes in ffg serrated edge...

Sal, I would love a wharnie, but also a DLC pink dragonfly/delica would be awesome.

Nice to see this thread getting so much attention! I agree that a pink wharnie Delica would be great, but clearly if you’re looking for the ultimate blade shape for this color, it’s obviously the...

Lil’ Matriarch!!!

That said, I’ll be happy to see the wharnie version (and I think I just figured out my next blade swap... ;)). Otherwise, a pink Dfly version of the recent blue TiCN S35VN exclusive would be awesome, along with some more TiCN-coated models in the lineup. (Seki usually uses TiCN as the blade coating, not DLC...)

Image

As far as a different hue of pink as Doc Dan suggests, I’m not such a fan. In fact the pink Delicas and the Dfly are two different shades already, with the Delicas being a hotter pink and the Dfly looking decidedly more Pepto Bismol-like :). I’d very much prefer that hot pink used on the Delica (and pink Ladybug and Jester...). Cheers, Radioactive

I like the Himalayan Salt idea....

How about a Pink Zome color with different shades of pink, tan, and white to look like Himalayan Salt?

I like the idea of pink/purple zome, as an addition to the hot pink.

No thanks. Pink is not my color.

Nice to see it happening, though, for those who want it!

My thoughts exactly! My wife actually despises all the stuff in the Gun, Knife and Hunting community that just add pink or purple to something to make women want it, e.g. pink camo.

A lot of women, and men too, love pink. I wear pink shirts. I like the color. It was originally the color assigned to boys and blue was for girls. Yes. Then, the colors were switched around for some reason and now we expect that pink is for girls. It’s like Santa Clause being a jolly fat man in a red and white suit...was invented by CocaCola. It shaped our perceptions.

Really? Crap. It’s all about the marketing, all the time, isn’t it?
