Rivers Edge Cutlery Mystery Exclusive (DLC 10V/Coyote Brown G10 Paramilitary 2)

#1

Post by Mushroom »

So for those not on Instagram, Rivers Edge Cutlery just posted this photo -

Image

With this caption - "It's so cool the way that scorpions carry their young on their back! #RECExclusive #RiversEdgeCutlery #ExclusivePM2 #Spyderco

So, we know its going to be a PM2 from the hashtags and the next most obvious hint, is the ten "V"s in the photo. What makes me curious is why they're calling it the "Scorpion."

My first guess... an Emerson waved Paramilitary 2 in 10V?

Or could it be an entirely new model? They also posted this photo to their "story" ( only 24 hours) - It looks a lot like a makers mark.

I just saw this on IG...sure sounds like whatever it is, it's dropping tomorrow (or pre-sale, or announcing at least). 10v steel was my assumption, too, but I have no idea about the scorpio reference. Not sure I see the need for a wave on a pm2 since it's already so quick to deploy...interesting.

There is an English company called scorpion knives... But looking at there stuff Im not sure they would do a spyderco exclusive.

Whatever flavor it is I hope they ordered enough to not sell out in minutes!

Maybe 15V and a new scale pattern?

Edit: just counted the V’s so probably 10V

A hawkbill pm2 would be awesome, but in 10V? Sounds like a beast to sharpen. IDK...

Seems like a 10v with maybe some peach scales. Really doubt it's a hawkbill, serrated, Emerson wave or anything else out of the ordinary from the 50ish previous variations.

Sounds like a 10v PM2. I wish they'd do their 4v exclusive as a Manix.

Interesting guess for sure! Seems pretty far fetched though. Would be pretty cool if it was, instead of the same 5 or so models getting the exclusive treatment.

If this is a pm2 hawkbill...
...I would buy it!

This is very intriguing. Can't wait to see what it actually is.
