This is great news Sal. A smaller 3.75-4 inch P4 in SRS13 would be awesome :spyder:

A while back, there were requests for us to use a Japanese steel called SRS-15. We investigated the material and found that we cannot get SRS-15, but we can get SRS-13. I would guess that SRS-15 is proprietary.

So my questions would be: Are you interested in this steel? What models(s)? Mule team?

SRS-13 would be San Mai ( cladded )

A Millie in SRS13 is out of the question ?

Definitely in for an Endura, and possibly a Delica for my GF.

I was thinking to do the entire Endura family as a Sprint? Which is growing lately with the addition of the P4 and the Endela, and more if you include Wharncliffe's. Plus we've got the Rock Jumper coming this year. Maybe a dark brown?

sal
I'd buy the Endura, Dragonfly and this would be my first Endela also unless we get a nice sprint in the mean time to buy first. I'm still looking forward to the K390 run.The more I'm around that steel the more I like it.

That is not saying I wouldn't also buy a CPM Cruwear Endura if one ever comes around. I had my hopes up with the Cruwear Delica and even bought one of those but I'm still waiting and hoping for that Endura.

After all these years I still find plenty of new Spydercos to look forward to and buy. I have cut down on knife purchases but not so much on Spydercos. It has to be a knife I will actually carry and use but for those I'll still put in my orders.

I would be down for the Endura. I also would prefer a darker blue or green but brown isn’t a deal breaker. The blue of the m390 Delica would be an excellent choice.

Thinking Delica Wharncliffe in this. As for and an Endura no thanks. Dragonfly Wharncliffe sounds interesting also.

I like the FDE idea a lot.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I actually would be interested in this one. I feel if it's comparable to cruwear then it should be good with an endura/endela

Would there be enough to go around like ZDP-189 models, or more super limited numbers that will keep the flipper bots busy? If it’s the former, I’m in. If it’s the latter, then nah.

As the Endura is my favorite model, and pretty much only knife that I own now, I'd buy a couple. But no crazy zome for me. I like the dark brown, dark gray, or fde. I've been waiting for either the cruwear, m390, or s30v endura! The endura gets no love compared to the Delica! And with my uses I just can't do a non stainless, so I may have to pass on the k390. Tbh a Cruwear version probably wouldn't work for me either... But I'd probably buy one lol. I own three sg2 Endura's and it's by far my most used knife, because other than vg10, there's hardly a stainless option in the bunch.

Keep the stainless options coming!

I think SRS-13 would be a neat intro for millie 2
Endela or delica-wharnie would be tempting too.

So many steels, so many knives, only so much money to go around.

It sounds like a very interesting steel that I have not had the chance to check out irl yet. I would love to get my hands on one and I think anything in the Endura family would make a great starting point to see how it works out for users.

I'd definitely be in for a pair of Delicas, but I'd also probably buy the P4 LW in this steel too and the SS Stretch if you make that. However, I'm still voting for a sprint run of the Street Beat, and I'll buy a pair of those in any steel you make them (except the 8cr13MoV and associated Chinese steels or BD1).

Looks interesting. I'd certainly buy one or two, and depending on how the steel performs in use, potentially more.

I wonder if the Japanese makers have investigated the question of whether a slightly different cladding stainless grade might allow for a harder core steel treatment? I understand the heat treat for laminated steels needs to take into account the response of both steels.

I actually quite like the relative toughness and ease of sharpening of the 'softer' HAP40 core, clad blades. No surprise since I have five of them. But it seems a lot of users report that they like the higher hardness of the knives featuring the monometal REX45 Crucible version of this steel grade. (I personally haven't tried REX45 yet.)

Also, I'm glad to hear the Wharncliffe Delica is being considered for this sprintrun. Of late, the HAP40 model has been my most used knife from the Seki family. It's an outstanding work knife, and a design I'd be particularly interested to try in different steels.

The next two Seki models I'd be most interested in would be the Dragonfly and the Stretch 2. :)

Wharncliffe for me if it's endura or delica. Maybe time for a police wharn... And yes we should have zebras instead of mules lol
