I was hoping for that wee bit of extra thickness, just like the Salt 2 compared to the Delica.

To avoid any confusion, the handle thickness of the Endura 4 is .43 inches, plus or minus a few thousandths of an inch. The handle thickness of the Pacific Salt 2 is also .43 inches, with slightly more variance along its length, but still within a few thousandths. Their profiles are identical. For all intents and purposes, the handles of the two knives are dimensionally the same.

Stay safe,

Mike

Thanks for the final clarification!

Wouldn't it be great to get a liner-less Endura. Or better yet - aliner-less Endela would be suweeet.

Maybe someday we will get an Endela sized Salt. Why not?

I think all delicas, enduras and endelas should be linerless. Lighter, easier to maintain, simpler, etc. The liners aren’t needed. Some people prefer them, but they are 100% unnecessary in my humble opinion.

Linerless for me too, which is one reason I prefer the Salt series. I'm positive the liner models are great too though.

I like liners only when it’s -20° Celsius and below. Little more strength for the brittleness. I love light knives. Don’t know how some people can carry heavy a$$ pocket brick brass handles and such. I actually don’t mind the Delica and Endura liners, though. Not much extra weight, but more strength.

LOL, yeah...I don't have that problem in SoCal. But I see your point about the cold weather. ;)

I started a thread about this very topic (see link below) quite recently. There Sal said, he'd watch sales of the Endela before thinking about a Salt version

I just opened the Pacific Salt 2 and my initial findings are positive. Spyderco has made some nice subtle CQI changes to my favorite model by using the endura 4 handle. The blacked out back lock and screws are a nice touch too. I will always cherish my Pac 1 but I’m probably going to retire it and start carrying the 2.

Is it just my eyes, or is the blade shape a little different, especially near the tip?

Sorry I forgot to mention my Pacific Salt 1 was ground down to a Jandura-like wharncliffe by Brad Southard.

Gotcha. I didn't know if I was just seeing things, but I thought it looked different.

Pac Salt 2 SE Black is now available through SFO. Should be on the way to dealers.

Can anyone tell me the width, or maybe it's considered height, of the widest/tallest part when the Salt 2 is closed? Basically the dimension from the top of the hole to the outside of the handle when it's closed.

Thanks
